Still he is another astute signing that we did well out of.
A bit harsh on Ardley there. It was the Covid season and RR had moved from a foreign country.

All the head-coaches I think played a part in his development and yes, we did well out of him.

Quite ironic that when Ardley left that Sam and Rodders fortunes changed for the better.Even more ironic was they were both attacking players...

Ardley mostly played him on the left in a 442 if I remember correctly. RR was never going to shine in an Ardley team.

He must rue the move to Aberdeen, even though you couldn't really blame him for taking the opportunity at the time.

Although I did get the impression that Williams was struggling to figure out how best to fit Roberts into our playing system and the move removed that as an issue.

Roberts was unplayable during that first few weeks before Covid hit. He was still good when he came back from injury but sadly he seemed to lose a bit of pace and wasn't quite the same player. A real shame.

An in form Cal Roberts in the current side would be frightening.. JJ on one wing and Cal on the other…

I think his chances at EFL are over sadly. Injuries have taken too much from him. He wouldn't be at S****horpe in NLN if he had a chance of a move to the EFL

Oh I agree… when I said in form… I meant early days at Notts and especially before his major injury… he wasn’t the same player then and the downward slump is pretty sad to see.

Yeah, in those early days he'd have been a cert for someone like Peterborough to pick up. Did I remember right COVID got him and ever since then he's not been the same?

Yeah he got covid and it brought on some strange abdominal issues from what I remember. Then he did something pretty serious to his hamstring in his second match at Abderdeen too from what I remember.
