    I can see both sides.

Maybe it shud be just those clubs that are running buses that should get preference.

    Two tier Keir.

    Two tier DSA

    3 tier season ticket holder.
I just wonder what would happen if the benefits of joining a supporters club were promoted on this forum?
Surely the aim should be to boost support for supporters clubs, and the level of membership of the DSA.
The logic of Islay's questions seem to me to point to the benefit of being both a ST holders and a member of a supporters club that is affiliated to the DSA.

The benefits of joining a DSA affiliated supporters club according to their constitution dated 5th August 2023 are
    1. Priority match tickets
    2. Tickets for the Player of the Year Dinner
    3. Merchandising discounts agreed between Dundee Football Club and the DSA.
You can add to the above list that members of the DSA affiliated supporters club had first priority to purchase tickets for the 50th Anniversary League Cup win dinner last January.
The secretary of every DSA affiliated supporters club was emailed a copy of the DSA constitution over a week before their AGM which was held last Saturday (31st August 2024).

I know a Dundee FC season ticket holder who was not a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club. He travelled to every away game by car during the 2022-23 season until the last away game of the season.
This person arrived at Dens Park to join the long queue outside the ticket office at 6am to try to purchase a ticket from the Queens Park game at Ochilview.
He was unsuccessful because the DSA had previously been allocated tickets rumoured to be almost 50% of the allocation that Dundee Football Club received from Queens Park FC.
I contacted Davie Craig Chairman of the DSA and his solution was that this Dundee FC season ticket holder should join a DSA affiliated supporters club!

The members of DSA affiliated supporters clubs who are season ticket holders should join the queue outside the Ticket Office along with all the other season ticket holders to purchase their ticket for Away games.
If they want to be sure of a ticket then they should queue up overnight which the season ticket holders who were not a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club had to do prior to the tickets going on sale for the Querns Park match on the last day of the 2022-23 season.
Meanwhile the members of the DSA affiliated supporters clubs who had already been allocated a ticket for the Queens Park were tucked up in their beds sleeping.
According to the discussion at the DSA AGM last Saturday apart from the away game at Tannadice the only other club that away tickets are in short supply are Hearts who from memory last season reduced the number of Away tickets for each club to 750 per game.
In my opinion every Dundee FC season ticket holder should receive the same priorities for the sale of tickets for away games which is not happening at present.
DSA affiliated supporters clubs should not be getting priority for an away game at Tannadice apart from the Ferry supporters club and the Forfar Dark Blues who run a bus to every Dundee FC home game.

I don't often agree with Islay but he's spot on here.

Totally get JDFC's side too, very expensive to run a bus and it needs filled, but in all fairness if you can't fill a bus with members you can aways throw the spaces open to the general fan base at a 5% uplift on the member cost.

    This is not totally correct.
Season ticket holders who are members of a DSA affiliated supporters club get first priority for purchasing tickets for Away games with season ticket holders who are not a member of a DSA affiliated supporters club having to wait until the number of Away tickets requested by season ticket holders of each DSA affiliated supporters club have been advised to the Dundee FC ticket office before they are advertised for sale to season ticket holders.
    In my opinion this wrong.
All season ticket holders should be treated the same.
They should have to purchase their Away ticket from the Dundee FC ticket office irrespective of whether they are a members of a DSA affiliated supporters club or not.
You maybe need to think before you post SH1T, DSA get a percentage put aside, it’s less than 50% of allocation, not as you say, as much as they want, with left overs if any going to season ticket holders

    I await your correction

Maybe the fact that the Player of the year is a DSA run event, as was anniversary dinner why wouldn’t members get tickets, I listened to you last Saturday and came to the conclusion if they opened up your head they’d probably get a decent bowl of broth

    For Islay benefit

Cost of 51 seater bus is £675 anywhere in Scotland agreement is we run bus to every match, to keep price at that, so full bus or 10 to a midweek Celtic match all the same, we pay £20 extra when we travel early
    We charge members £15 adult £10 U18’s,

Very fair pricing jdfc. Does membership of an affiliated supporters club cost a lot. I am hoping that this thread is being helpful to your cause.

I can see Islay's point of view. It would be interesting if the percentages of the away allocations that remain unclaimed were known. It seems that the specific example that Islay has used is not the norm, so maybe some alternative arrangement might work.

It does seem a bit more unfair for people who go to every away match to lose their ticket because of an increased demand from people who have not bought an away ticket during the season. Equally, someone, as in Islay's example, who travels independently should not lose out because of an inflated demand from DSA members.

Seems to me it should be possible to ballot tickets based on the number of away tickets a supporter has bought during the season to date.

It costs £10 to join our club, that is saved after 2 trips
    Rangers match, 952 tickets
    Put aside DSA 400

There will be a number of buses struggling if non season ticket holders don’t manage to get tickets, 400 will never suffice for the buses going through, I’d like to hear more noise from our club to get an increase of about 500 tickets
