To be honest I was a bit worried how we would cope without Jatta. That's no slight on McGoldrick - his technical ability is not in doubt - but I thought we might lose some physicality and mobility. Having him central where he can take a touch and fire shots on goal more than makes up for that, though, and a really gives us another way to hurt the opposition (hopefully the endless build up of last season has morphed into players being allowed to have a dig when they feel it's on).

Scott out again? I missed that

He’s one of our own ❤️
I hadn't seen this thread when I posted the following in the match thread.

'Getting to the goals, Didzy's first was a headline grabber but his second was equally, perhaps even more deserving of appreciation, it was a sublime, controlled pass, through bodies, superb finish.

He's undroppable right now but I would like to find a way to accommodate both him and Jatta if possible.'

Yes it would be nice to see them up front together and centrally in a four four ****ing two when teams shut up shop against us.

Scott pulled up in the last 8 mins, left calf looked like, for some reason they didnt sub him although he shouted he wanted off.
Scott seems like a square peg in a round hole on the pitch, i just cant see him getting a regular place the way he is performing at the mo.

That's true, I have seen it reported as 'a deflected strike' but it was controlled and clean, passed into the net, as people used to say about Jimmy Greaves' goals. That level of calmness just isn't seen in League 2. I hope he keeps his place in the team as I can see him being League 2 top scorer if he does.

His movement and awareness to take it first time for the second is excellent. But it did take a slight deflection which has helped it in. I think without that nick, the keeper saves it.

It took a huge deflection, completely wrong footed their keeper, but that's why you shoot from distance through crowded penalty boxes!

You'd expect him to hammer it in that case, not go with a side foot?

Hard to tell from the only angle I've seen, just how big of a deflection it was.

I'm going from memory here but think keeper dived to his left and the ball went in to his right, so pretty big. Anyone sitting in the Kop should be able to tell us though!
