    O/T: Barnet Manager Dean Brennan

Not sure if many have seen this, but it’s been picked up by Sky Sports.

I’ve got zero Barnet related context, but the vast majority of this I’m all in for. Not sure I’m overly enamoured when he starts chipping off about only 900 turning up and spending money etc

Yeah. You can see they're quite different characters though.

That interview might have seemed a good idea at the time, but it could all go wrong quickly now if he loses a few games.

"Dean Brennan says he quit as Wealdstone manager because of tensions behind the scenes...."

“I felt the two issues combined left my situation untenable.
“I was also becoming uncomfortable with the relationship between the chairman and my assistant Stuart Maynard, which I believe was beginning to undermine my position as manager at the club.
“As you all know I am big on trust and loyalty. However, it is my opinion this was not reciprocated.

Somebody joined and made a post on here very soon after Maynard arrived who clearly had a personal axe to grind, maybe it was him or somebody close to him.

Great speech so to speak but as others say above could backfire. Barnet have struggled since they moved with crowds which were poor before hand and their ground is awful. None the less they are there or there abouts.

Love the honesty and passion. Better to say it how it is than throw out a bunch of platitudes. 900 fans is obviously rubbish, but as always happens in football, the ones that actually turn up get blamed for poor support.

Seems a very different character to Maynard.

Wealdstone weren't happy with some aspect so decided they weren't going to renew his contract.
Makes sense that they were talking to SM about taking over and so Brennan got the hump and left.
