Do they only use the helicopter when they're not driving both cars at the same time?

I wish that they hadn’t built a cycle path alongside the main road into town, much better to have had a waterway instead, then I could swim the three miles into town, wouldn’t take too long.

Let’s do a poll on here for starters.

Who has a bus pass and uses it regularly instead of a car?
I have a bus pass, I don’t use it regularly, though. It is particularly useful if I need to go to a hospital appointment, either in Kettering or Northampton, I always use the bus as parking at the hospitals is difficult and expensive, whereas the bus is free and a lot less hassle. I sometimes meet my daughter in Cambridge; have you ever driven in Cambridge? It is a nightmare, so using my bus pass on the park and ride is the sensible way to go. Similarly, if I want to go into Norwich City centre, the bus is so much easier than driving in and trying to find somewhere to park.

    My question is quite simple,

Do you own a car and a free bus pass, if you do, how often do you use your free bus pass?

No doubt AL will muddy the waters by introducing university graduate baristas and their need for free transport because Harrogate is sadly lacking in both legal and illegal immigrants.

Let’s stick to the simple question eh?

    Just for a change.

Change your text from sadly to happily! None here and never will be. It’s a fact nice towns have less crime - best schools and less rough people.

Back to the question - buses are rammed here as many pensioners are reliant on buses. You know yourself from Bilton where lots of elderly live - many would not be physically able to walk the long distance into the town centre.

What the NHS must be wasting though on free prescriptions for the over 60’s is shocking. How can someone over 60 on a decent salary of over 40K a year be allowed to pick up free prescriptions yet you pay for a hospital car park? No where wonder the system is broken!

I shall keep taking all of the “free” prescriptions I’ve funded through my tax for the past 46+ years.

I pay enough private medical care for myself any family.

As for buses, I won’t be using them…..EVER!

Be quick as the Tool Makers Son will be hitting those financially comfortable very hard soon! Second houses - inheritance tax - capital gains etc! Many will be downsizing or gifting in vast numbers! As my financial guy says - if you holiday in Majorca start going to the Maldives 🤣

I was thinking the other day about these early release prisoners - why didn’t we just put them on an intense army training course? with a deal that if they reoffend, they’ll go back permanently. I know there’s a cost involved in this and wont apply to all but I think this would have been more popular for the gov.

It would breach the Human Right Act I would expect.

    Doesn’t almost everything!?

Wouldn’t work. Army training courses are mainly for those under 30 who are very fit and have the right mind set for survival. How could someone over 30 with no stamina -no get up and go - and obese be trained! Bit like trying to make a professional footballer out of some fat kid who likes doughnuts!

That’s my point, it’s the very punishment they deserve and in order to be let out early. Surely the food they eat in jail isn’t great.. so they would have lost a few tyres during their prison time.
