Scott unfortunately hasn’t showed one thing yet to suggest he can do it in the EFL but that’s no to say he can’t do it. To compare him though to a fit Didzy though is ridiculous, their light years apart in career and ability to date, probably more, he’s got to get his head down now and prove he can get close to Jatta and Mcgoldrick,I hope he does it.
Scott has been incredibly unlucky since we got promoted. I said earlier another thread that he feels a real victim of circumstance.
We get promoted, he gets injured, playing at a level he’s very new too. Evidently, Notts haven’t been at that level for a while and have to strengthen whilst Scott doesn’t have a chance to impact it nor improve himself by playing at the standard.
McGoldrick and Jatta (and Macca whilst he was here) are all clearly better than him. That happens. That’s no one’s fault.
He didn’t have a great first game. He played far too wide. I think he can have an impact as a 9 or a narrow 10 but again his injury could stifle his development.
Who out of him or Morais is the better option, it’s tricky to work out. SM obviously thought Scott was ready to really contribute. I’d try and get him out on a short term loan when he’s back. Get some minutes, get a few goals and get him back in the fold.
Is it the nostalgia of being a big part of the NL promotion squad that we're desperate for him to make the step up?
At some point if we’re to progress we’ll have to cut ties.
Imagine Luton sticking with their NL promotion squad, I think only Mpanzu played in all 5 divisions.
That's an amazing achievement with one club. I think one or two more went on the journey from L2 to Prem. Luke Berry is one for sure.
Nostalgia is definitely part of it. Another factor is that we picked him up from the sixth division, and it's always more enjoyable to unearth a gem than buy someone who's already well known.
