    Queens v Dumbarton

Had a look yesterday to see what was being said about the stenny game and found that there wasn't even a thread about it ................. Shanty must be spinning in his grave. Anyway no such problems this week as here we go. Two home games on the bounce and would hope for 4 maybe 6 points to keep us right at the top ........... one thing for sure don't expect a lot of goals with our miserly defence and forwards not firing on all cylinders to say the least ........... 3 : 3 it is then.

Other than the much maligned McKechnie, no other forward/striker has scored a league goal in any of the seven matches and herein lies the problem. Last years defensive frailties appear to have been dealt with but our lack of goal scoring threat is becoming a worry.

I’m confident too that the goals will come. Our defence and midfield is pretty solid. Just a bit more luck in front of goals and we’ll be fine.

Today’s boardroom update was absolutely fantastic. It’s now time we ALL got right behind the team and that includes those who still won’t return because Billy is still there. Time to look at the bigger picture folks.

This is a bit of a revolution for Queens after a period of stagnation so we all need to get fully behind it.

Totally agree Spike! The one thing the fans forget is that every team goes out to do their best, - and it's easy to get frustrated by a few poorer results.

The same is true of not scoring against Stenhousemuir, but the stats of 10 shots on target simply show that Stenny defended well and were probably very lucky too. One of these days, - somebody is going to be well beaten by this Queens team,.....and the sooner the better!

Always remember that strikers win games, defenders win titles. It’s a marked improvement in every aspect compared to the last couple of years and we now have some youngsters coming through that look more than capable, o’donnel and Johnstone in particular. 2.0 queens this week

Rather strange game today. Firstly we deservedly went ahead with a wonderful goal from O'Donnell and were comfortable. Then we started to faff about at the back with Cochrane taking the ball off the keeper at the six yard box and constantly created issues for ourselves when trying to play short balls out of defence unnecessarily with allowed Dumbarton to play much higher up the pitch. We were lucky not to concede 2 or 3 prior to the break. Second half we generally stopped the nonsense and could have scored more than the Hewitt goal, at the end of a lovely flowing move, hitting the post as well as missing a penalty. Take the three point which put us on top of the table and hope that Queens drop this insistence on playing the suicidal short passes out of defence for future games and the sake of the supporters health.
