    3. Israel should start prosecuting people who burn a Palestinian's olive trees
    4. Hamas should immediately return all the hostages
    5. Hamas should stop firing rockets into Israel
    6. Hamas should never again kidnap Israelis
    7. Hezbollah should stop firing missiles of various kinds into Israel
    8. Hezbollah should get the hell out of Lebanon
    9. Israel should withdraw from Gaza
    10. Israel should stop all attacks on Gaza
    11. Israel should withdraw from Lebanon
    12. Israel should stop all attacks on Lebanon
    13. Other groups in the region, in Yemen etc should stop firing rockets into Israel and at ships
    14. Israel should stop attacking those groups
    15. Palestinians, legally resident in Israel, should have the same rights as Israeli Jews
    16. Iran should get back to restoring equality in Iran for women and gays etc

There's more to be done but IF we could achieve all 16 points, it would be a great start towards permanent peace in the region and a huge leap away from WW3
I would agree, but Iran should get its beak out of all middle east meddling.
I have a feeling the USA has been waiting for this, to give Iran a good slap

This has to be some sort of record for a newly elected government. 1 point in front of a shambles Tory party.

and the top issue in the country just gets worse.

But all the polls in the world won't change anything. We have 4 or more years of KS barring something extraordinary happening.

You sound a bit like rA moaning about the Tories for years whilst also knowing their majority meant nothing would change.

As to the IPSOS issues poll, I can understand the sentiment in the key issues but I don't believe any cohesive strategies are in place (yet?) to address them but I don't think any government can bury their head in the sand for ever

Actually he sounds nothing like it…the differences being that 1. I reply in my own words not via YouTube etc. 2. The Tories had been in power for six years (!) before I ever contributed to this forum whereas Labour/KS have been in power for approximately three months. 2. Most of my objections were aimed at the dishonesty involved in the Referendum and the wrongdoings of Boris Johnson between 2016 and 2022…all of which now seem thoroughly well founded and did actually lead to the overthrow of 2019’s massive Tory majority.
Anyway down to Jenrick, Cleverly and Badenoch I see now…so that’s the last decent(ish) Tory out of the race to elect a new leader of the opposition.
Reap what you sow and let’s hope against hope that those in the U.S. show a great deal more sense in a little under a month.

Starmer was banging a drum befoe the election, that he was going to smash the gangs and appoint a head of a task force to organise it.
The first words out his mouth were " his plans won't work"

Oh my, that bit is lane.
Referendum dishonesty? Really, do you want to go down that road?
Johnsons misdoings will look pale compared to this plank. He is already unravelling faster than a split golf ball.
You think thats what over threw the Tories?
OMG, try not fullfilling what they were voted in for in 209, To finish Brexit completely and that meant full control of our laws and borders.
They lost 50% of their vote because of that, not Johnsons wall paper.

Nope, no point at all in going down that road (again)…largely because you’re in total denial making rational argument completely futile…and if you really think Johnson’s dishonesty was confined to ‘wallpaper’ then there’s all the proof about your mindset that most will need.

What overthrew the Tories? Incompetence, dishonesty, lack of integrity, greed, corruption and being caught out. You cannot seriously compare 14 years of that with just over three months of beginning to try and sort out the mess that was left…no matter how much you and the right wing press will doubtless continue to try.

Me? Got better things to do than respond further to your foolishness.

... plus, the "sleaze" they are currently throwing at KS et al comes from the fact that they DECLARED the gifts, exactly as the rules say they should. IMO they shouldn't get these gifts in the first place but, apart from Corbyn, there's not many politicians who would routinely refuse such offers.

Its really quite funny watching somebody make themselves look a complete tool, by repeating desperate slurs which pumped out by a biased media and dodgy internet sources. The extent to which he has lost the plot is bizarre.

A few facts - the donations accepted by Starmer and all, apart from those concerning his wife (which was swiftly corrected) properly declared in accordance with the rules which all MP's of all political colours are subject to, pale in comparison to those (not all of which were declared) accepted by Johnson, his wallpaper (circa £100K exceeds them alone) but then there was his wedding costs covered £23K the provision of a house after he was ousted as PM until he had found somewhere else to live, plus before he was elected leader he had £500K of donations.

Whatever one thinks of political donations, and clearly most especially from companies rather than individuals are looking for influence rather than altruistically supporting a political party a rich person approves of, the fact is unless we switch to a tax payer funded political system they are a fact of life and pale in comparison to the US.

Its also a little ironic that our "Red supporting friend" doesn't seem to muse why some billionaires are funding Farage and Geebeebies, I mean why would someone pay £47 million a year to fund a loss making TV station that no sentient person actually watches? MM tricky (no pun intended) one that!
