    I think the problem is

that we haven't got a traditional striker. A fit regular Wilson would do but that isn't going to happen, ever.

What is clearly needed is a Shearer, Supermac, Sir Les type of leader. A proper well built leader with the traditional build and shape of a striker to go upfront with Isak who although a good goal scorer, isn't the devastating striker that strikes fear in the hearts of defenders.

When that is in place we need the service to him then.

    May be.

I think the problem is that we struggle against low block.

I already provided statistics that previous season we did well against top-8 teams, but against mid-table and bottom were worse than Chelsea, Spurs, Villa.

We need more goals from distance and headers. Isak despite being tall cant head the ball, he needs some space to show the best of him. And we needed Barnes yesterday, heÂ’d have a few chances in the first half.
Other guys just barely score outside of the box

It is saying that we had 2 goal opportunities yesterday and both were one on one on a counter.

I think all teams have trouble scoring against the low block hence why this tactic is used by underdogs.
I agree we should shoot more from distance. When we have a free kick in a good position, I’m not optimistic we’ll score. Likewise, our corners are poor and set pieces become more important when playing teams sitting deep.

I’d have the lads doing some old fashioned shooting practice this week.

I don't think we needed to change this year with no Europe but now that we have maybe we need a change of formation and a "lock picker" in midfield to run with the ball and make a clever pass or through ball. Maybe a 4-2-3-1, with Bruno and Tonali the 2, Gordon left, Barnes the lock picker behind Isak, Almiron/new lockpicker/runner on the right with big Joe rotating in and out depending on the opposition. I dunno I think maybe we have too many good midfielders doing the same job and a glaring, gaping hole on the right along with a lack of consistent number 9.

Ultimately we should be doing a lot better with the players we have got and I think its a system/coaching problem that EH needs to grab by the ballls and sort out soon.
