It led to Ted Lowe's famous Pot Black classic - "and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the pink is next to the green."

That's one I remember. Used to love Pot Black. I've mentioned before that it was a few years after the '66 World Cup that I saw we played in Red. Hope I wasn't supporting the side in white at the time

Still got my 1978 black & white portable, a Ferguson TX with a dial tuner as advertised on TV by Andre Previn. It's up in the loft, no idea if it still works but it wouldn't be able to pick up anything other than static now.

I got a tv from a shop in Arnold back in the 80’s which was exactly the same as one owned by one of my workmates and the only difference being that I had teletext and he didn’t,I used to take the mick out of him saying that my tv was better and him saying that they all had teletext in them but I was paying more for a different remote with more buttons on it,eager to show him up i visited him at his home and used my remote to get teletext on his tv where much to my shock the teletext came up,to this day I still haven’t got over that

I bought one of those universal remote controls. I thought 'this changes everything'.
