Crowley's best position is anywhere in the starting eleven.

We are lucky to have a player of his quality.

If we’re playing a team just sitting deep then he’s better playing deeper himself. He influences the game much better.
I’m yet to remember a time where he’s held on to the ball when we’re counter attacking. He moves the ball very fast.
Whenever he holds on to the ball, it’s because he’s drawing opponents in so we can start an attack.
I think the injury to Jones has meant opposing teams have put more focus on Crowley in recent games.
Reading some comments of him thinking he’s too good for us are just embarrassing.
He’s been unplayable at times this season.
I can’t remember an occasion where opposing fans have applauded one of our players like Bromley did!
I go with all of that and have said so before. My take on it is that because JJ and DC share the No10(ish) responsibilities and JJ is now injured DC has the whole weight on his shoulders and is being pushed back by a defence that has 50% of our midfield to forward threat missing (although Tsaroulla looks like he can do the business). The playing deep issue is a circumstance dictated by injury and the consequent freeing up of opposition defenders making our attacking build-up having to happen deeper.

Absolutely. And it's shocking that the rare talent he has for ball retention is construed as a negative.

The opposition hate that he can keep the ball and they can't get it off him. If there's not a lot on DC is one of those rare players who can keep it until a better option emerges.
It goes without saying that his team-mates have to always look to provide those options, that's one of the basics of football.

He's a bit small for a goalie😊. Top player though.

Are they really the only comments you have seen?

Left Peg Pie has read what I’ve seen also.

I have seen comments wondering why he is so deep and, at times, his indecision (or reluctance?) in playing a ball quicker (I raised the subject myself when he had a go at Tsaroulla for not being in the right place for a pass and the next move Tsar made a classic overlap run and DC just turned away from him). I haven't seen any posts that are doing him down. Everyone accepts his importance to the team and his individual ability it's just that pass when it's available.

Its all about opinions. People will, and always see things differently, that a way of life. Its a message board for that reason, and not just one to satisfy a certain few.

Along with JJ, Crowley is our most influential player. That doesn't mean he's perfect. I do feel he is often too slow to play a pass. However, I know it is far easier to see a pass sat in the stand than in the reality of a game. If he was any better, there is no way he'd be giving us the enjoyment of watching him float around the field controlling games. We are lucky to have him, though I fear that won't be beyond January.

Of course it is. I love differing opinions it would be very dull if there weren’t any. However on this occasion this isn't about peoples opinions rather missed content. Maybe we just read more posts on Crowley.

The comment about how easy passes are to see from the stands or the sofa than on the pitch is so true and often forgotten.

I am happy for one player to tend to hold onto the ball looking for the killer pass rather than the obvious simple safe one. We have plenty of players who can do the latter and far less the former. We have done well without Crowley but I would like to see him back in the starting lineup.
