I think JG has done a decent job so far. Some of the football has been poor, but he has managed to do what he was asked to do. He has had a massive job building a premiership team and probably needs a couple more transfer windows to get things exactly as he wants the. Doing this with a limited budget has been impressive. Even the Goodwin haters out there must admit that he seems to have built a good team spirit and togetherness into the squad. But management is a results driven business, and if he goes on a losing streak or we drop into the relegation places. then I think he is on a shoogly peg, as any manager would be. I think extending his contract is a sensible move as it might give the team a wee shot in the arm and hopefully indicates that the owner is planning backing him because I don't think he would have signed it if he was being told that he couldn't get a player budget. Stability and continuity are what we are needing just now. We aren't world beaters by any means....but we are seeing improvements throughout the club which is positive. It finally feels like we have got rid of every trace of the Ashgar regime that threatened to bury our club at one point.

There's a small but vocal section of our support that doesn't like Jim and I'm at a loss to understand why that is.
    (Maybe someone can explain that?)
You get the feeling that they're waiting patiently for a bad run so they can tell us they were right all the time. It's absolutely crazy.
I don't care if he was a bas....ard when he played against us, he's our man and we should all be getting behind him.

It's hard to know if Fergie or Pep could have come in when he did and kept us in the top division.
Honestly I doubt that they would have.

He very quickly binned off a lot of Asghars top earners, within a very short space of time forged a team ideally suited to the Championship. If there was a criticism it was his in game management where he waited too long to change things but we can see this season he's learnt from that.
After promotion was secured he released a large number of players which surprised everyone and when posters like me were saying we needed 6-8 new signings to be competitive he signed 13. He's transformed United in a very short space of time and he deserves great credit for that.

The anti Goodwin minority should get behind him, maybe they will maybe they won't but my message is be very careful what you wish for.
