I definitely believe he could do a decent job for us but not for 70 million.
The rumour mill suggests he was waiting for a move to Liverpool or hoping for Liverpool to come for him.

In my personal opinion, I'd rather we left him alone and pursued other avenues unless we got him for half the price.
The player had agreed personal terms with Newcastle as the deal was progressing. He was happy to come ro newcastle and work with Eddie Howe.

The Liverpool dive bomb at the 11th hour was speculation. They never bid. Obvs it's a step up from Palace so who wouldn't be interested to go to Merseyside?

Had parish been serious about selling instead of doing the bidding of him old Trafford masters and mess with our progression like a good little rubber faced boy, Guehi would be a toon player not a Liverpool one.

I'm buzzing about the Seville player Bade now. He's a beast!

I still have a nagging doubt that he didn’t push for a move to us, and it is possible to do that (in a subtle way) without being a d*ck.
Whatever the reason for that, I don’t know but, for the fees involved, Parrish should’ve personally driven him to St James’ Park.

Hindsight is a great thing but Palace should've kept Andersen and sold Guehi. When alls said and done, I think Palace had a worse transfer window than us even and only have themsleves to blame.

I just think it was a case that he wanted to make sure he got his 'loyalty bonus' and didn't want to cause any waves with Rubber face. You can imagine that clown is as petty and vindicative as his latex slimy face appears.

Either way would prefer Loïc Badé from Sevilla.

he's about half a foot taller and would form a rock solid wall with Botman.

Guehi's transfer saga has soured the waters with that and it's just not something that makes sense anymore.

If it was my choice the Guehi deal would be dead. If football deals are anything like deals in other businesses then I wouldn’t go back to it.
Guehi didn’t push for it and Parish is not the type to do business with - just doesn’t feel at all right to me.

    Totally agree mate.

From personal experience, when contracts have failed in my business, I don't revisit the same contract with the same company/client.

If they come back to me to renegotiate, I take up the position that they have to make the offer and I/my team will not re-engage in any form of project development or changes.

Whatever the offer it's either a yes or a no.

Parish is indeed a hard person to do business with. Same as Levy. Plus they hate us. Hate the power we now have, hate the wealth behind us.

This is gonna sound ridiculous, I know it before I type it. However, back in my university days I used to play Football Manager.

By Play I mean I obsessed about it. I had a dedicated old laptop to run FM on only. I always struggled to buy players from Premier League teams as they would always jack up the price etc. So my strategy was to only sign players from outside the Prem.

Hoover up as much youth talent as I could and sign some FM 'Legends' the usual assassins to get the Might Toon army up challenging for the champions League spots and get on a couple of good cup runs.

Once I was a UCL regular the youth players started coming through.

When the Toon start to win the league or finish 2nd regularly keep spending outside the league and the rest of the teams in the league suffer as the usual big clubs hoovering up players from the 'smaller clubs'.

The usual big clubs are down a spare as the Toon have muscled in and instead to sharing the wealth with lower Prem teams by buying players the league is destabilised two fold. Spur & Liverpool both get relegated after a few seasons of not being in European football as their squad cost was way way too high.

Arsenal drop away to midtable also rans. Man U the same.

My strat was to destabilise the entire eco-system and it worked perfectly.

The club shouldn't engage with hostile Prem clubs for transfers. The club policy should be to sign excellent global talent from abroad and ensure there is enough local talent coming through the academy to negate the need to negotiate with other prem clubs.

City pretty much work in this manner. Apart from Grealish which other player did they sign from a competitor recently?

Kyle Walker? Kovačić I guess from Chelsea but they bought the world and needed to get rid of players. Also Chelsea don't appear to be hostile to Man City or us. Tough negotiators yes but not Pr!ck levels of the Man Rubber face, not by a long way.

I’m probably one of the few people who love football who’s never played FM!!?!! I agree, though, without the PL’s protection the cartel clubs would likely follow very different, and lower risk, financial strategies.

Parish thought he was the dog’s boll*x during the transfer window. He’s probably feeling a bit more like the dog’s a *se now!

He might have set a reminder to 1st jan to call Mitchell with unique “today only” offer for his prime asset

Quite frankly if he comes in offering him for £40 million, I think we counter with £30 million.

If Guehi doesn't sign a new contract then Parish could well lose him for nothing.
