Match of the Day - New Presenter?

Worth a thread of its own.....

Who would you like to see presenting MotD? Do you care?

Candidates I can think of (feel free to add others):

    Mark Chapman
    Alex Scott
    Peter Crouch
    Gabby Logan
    Adrian Chiles
    Gary Neville

I thought Lineker did a top job. He was a bit awkward at 1st, when he was trying to emulate Des Lynam, but when he made it his own role he did a good job and got a bit of banter involved.
I'd like it to goto a former player, it irritates me when presenters play an idiot and ask the pundits stupid questions, and would go for Crouchy of the above list. Fits the same mould as Lineker, former England striker and comfortable/entertaining on the TV (Lineker was brilliant on They Think it's all Over).

Hadn’t thought of Crouch…good call. Chapman or the always outstanding Gabby Logan would be just as good imo. Is Shearer in with a shout?

As mentioned elsewhere, of the obvious ones mentioned I’d go for Chapman, Logan a good alternative, then a long list with Alex Scott at the bottom. Given the head of BBC sports job however I’d go for Orla Chennaoui from Discovery channel’s cycling show

You're not the only one who could go for her...

    I don’t like queueing.

But it was a serious suggestion

But surely, if you are presentimg a flag ship football show, an understanding and knowledge of the game is a must have?

If you are just going for eye candy, you may as well give Kylie Minogue a shout.

Laura Woods would be good. Micah Richards may be in the mix although I don't know how he'd be.

I agree on Redknapp , he'd be good.

I don't like carragher or neville.
