I'm not convinced meaningful consent can be given when there is a huge power differential and celebrity status involved. She was foolish and he took advantage .

As I said, I don't approve of his actions but from her perspective and in her own words it was consenting, and that satisfies the legal definition.

I think his actions were immoral for a few reasons, the worst parts being lying about it and hanging her out to dry.

And, I think parallels drawn between Clinton's behaviour and Trumps are:

    a) Laughable, and
    b) Not relevant

Trumps awful. I wouldn't let him anywhere near any woman I care about, and preferably would keep him away from all women.

What are your views on Biden? He's been caught groping women, touching and kissing young girls and making them visibly uncomfortable, and sniffing children at major public events. That's not normal behaviour.

Oh that doesn't count because all Democrats are good people. It's funny how those that are not anti-Trump say that all behaviour like that is wrong. Then those that suffer from TDS, only believe it's wrong if Trump did it. It's laughable really. There's some very holier than thou people on here.

Yeah, I was expecting the usual, "So you're condoning what Trump did then?" reply, followed by a list of reasons why Biden's child-sniffing and girl-groping was taken out of context and how he actually isn't a complete creep.

And of course the Democrats are the good guys! Hilary Clinton isn't a war-mongering career politician. Nancy Pelosi isn't involved in high-profile insider trading. Gary Gensler is doing a great job protecting US investors while allowing emerging industries to thrive. Elizabeth Warren has amassed hundreds of millions of dollars transparently and in the service of the American people. And so on.

I wouldn't say you're condoning what Trump has done, but you appear to be trying to mitigate it on the grounds that some Democrats have done wrong as well. Even if Biden turns out to be the biggest pervert in politics, it doesn't alter what Trump has done.

I don't know much about Biden, but looking at him I'm instinctively wary. And he has shown his contempt of women with his Title IX changes, taking away women's protections in sport and putting the whole category into question. If Trump reverses that, it will be one good thing coming out of a very risky choice of President.

I feel the same. Regardless of what you think of him as a politician, he behaves very strangely in public to say the least. I'm amazed the numerous incidents I've mentioned weren't more heavily investigated or discussed at the time. I mean, even if you're weird enough that you want to go around sniffing kids, surely you wouldn't actually go ahead and do it, especially if you have the most high-profile job in the world and there are cameras on you.

MSM and the progressive left are now effectively acting as enablers for any form of creepy and disturbing behaviour so long as it doesn't exclusively involve adult males unable to control their hetero***ual desires for adult females, be that violent assault or brushing against somebody's knee, it's all treated as equally egregious if it isn't cloaked by the sacred flag.

The reaction to Huw Edwards when his behaviour first came to light was most telling. Those who said it should be left to the police to investigate and left it at that were making a fair and sensible point, but the amount of people falling over themselves to defend him as the victim - after all of the previous scandals involving BBC staff - was troubling.
