The hairdresser could read the script, but has no idea how to relate to it,

That was part of my suggestion with Jamie Redknapp,. A serious pro, but has a great personalty that projects that role into the technical side of the job.

But knowing the BBC, they probably have Shamima Beggum lined up. Famous face, knows how to play up to a camera and read a script her team wrote for her, waht's not to like?
I rest my case. Even on a totally inoffensive thread concerned only with MoTD punditry you can’t resist calling Lineker a ‘bell end’ and introducing your anti BBC/Muslim political nastiness via Shamima Beggum. There really is something wrong with you.

There lies the controversy dear sir.
Mr Lineker, is the biggest stirrer of political activism going. Totally contravening the BBC neutrality claims. sticking to what he was paid for, (football commentary and opinions) Would be wonderful, as it is an extraordinary amount of money he is paid(tax money). The BBC allowed him to get away with it for years as well.
So its a valid point when public opinion is involved.

Beggum is a joke, but one the BBC would over look seeing as they championed her in an exclusive life story of sympathy.

Someone nice and neutral, who played the game at a good level would be wonderful.
MOD, has fallen a long way from its hey days

You’re obsessed and not in a good way.
‘Mr. Lineker is the biggest stirrer of political activism going.’ Really? Maybe you need to think about that claim.

    Sorry, but no.

He represented a corporation that claims to be politically neutral, yet his social media outbursts, have even included him being suspended for using the Nazi card.
Safe job, excellent salary, yet can't help himself.
If he wanted a career in politics, he should have done so, not take money from the tax payer abusing his role.

Stick to football, folks would have been happier. (probably not with his salary, but we don't decide that)

Here's a few of his controversial ones. (better quote something, before I'm accused of making it up)

I'd like someone that knows a bit about the game, for nothing more than not seeing them suck up to the pundits too much. A former pro would be preferable, but not essential... At least a fan of the sport.
Lineker does a podcast with Shearer and Richards, which is a good listen if you like a no holds football chat.

I don’t know who has accused you of making stuff up…but Gary Lineker hosts a football programme. He’s also a ‘Remainer’, has signed an open letter opposing the Rwanda proposals and has been critical of human rights violations in Qatar. So what? He has opinions and isn’t afraid to voice them. What’s the problem? He’s Gary Lineker…not Laura Kuenssberg or Fiona Bruce.

Having said that, after Teresa May took over as PM in 2017 he was quoted as saying, ‘Everything seems far right or way left. Something sensibly centrist might appeal?’
‘Biggest stirrer of political activism’? Don’t make me laugh…he’s just someone else who’s opinions you don’t like and have it in for.

Reports on socials that Chappers has refused to share the MOTD job with an, as yet, unnamed female presenter. No idea if there's any truth in it.

Laura Woods perhaps, MA. Although she’s said to be on huge money at TNT.
