Is there anything we are good at? Conkers? Tiddleywinks?
It gets worse than that, kids are being investigated by police for playground name calling....
"Children are among thousands of people being investigated by police for non-crime hate incidents, The Times can reveal.
Police forces recorded incidents against a nine-year-old who called a primary school classmate a 'retard' and against two secondary school girls who said that another pupil smelt 'like fish'."
I was being rhetorical in my previous post, but of those thousands(!!!) of people being investigated for not committing any crime, how many of those people are going to the MSM and what success rate do they have for getting their stories told? The whole point of this tactic is to intimidate people into silence. We can see from social media what people are now afraid of - two tier policing - particularly in regard to free speech.
Those incidents, as ludicrous as they are, indicate to me over zealous administration of relatively new laws rather than the impending arrival of a police state.
A lot has been made of the example of Allison Pearson, in her case she libelled 2 Pakistani men as Jew haters in a tweet which she later deleted. There?s an interesting explanation of that case in the latest Private Eye. That one is in no way a freedom of speech issue, though one could argue the police were somewhat heavy handed. Also to interesting to note that for such a freedom of speech warrior she appears very quick to shut down others.

She also has a lot of past form for spreading misinformation.
Ah, Jon Sopel, that totally unbiased tweeter. It does seem very selective who's singled out here for "misinformation", what about Hope Not Hate's Nick Lowles' tweet? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/202...t-acid-attack/
