Let's scrap the older stuff now just in case the Defence Review decides that money should be spent on them!

And please can all beligerent countries refrain from any aggressive action against us until we are better equipped.

It does make you wonder what they, "the Government of the day", think is happening in the world? Are they blind or just gambling.

I thought decisions like allowing the use of our missiles by the Ukraine would have had have to go through Parliament for approval ?

No, we are not at war, we are supporting a third party.

Online is just an extension of regular conversation but people are being held up to the standards MSM ought to be meeting, yet they get away with blatant propaganda.

The powers that be will use the excuse that "pre-crime" intervention prevents mass random shootings or whatever, but in reality it will be Joe Bloggs feeling the heat for posting and sharing information and opinions that disrupt the narrative.
Who are the ?harmless old people? that are being intimidated for ?speculating about the motives of their government??

I?d Google it, but as you can imagine I?d need to be a bit more specific.

Edit; this question mark thingy?s driving me barmy!

It gets worse than that, kids are being investigated by police for playground name calling....

"Children are among thousands of people being investigated by police for non-crime hate incidents, The Times can reveal.
Police forces recorded incidents against a nine-year-old who called a primary school classmate a 'retard' and against two secondary school girls who said that another pupil smelt 'like fish'."

I was being rhetorical in my previous post, but of those thousands(!!!) of people being investigated for not committing any crime, how many of those people are going to the MSM and what success rate do they have for getting their stories told? The whole point of this tactic is to intimidate people into silence. We can see from social media what people are now afraid of - two tier policing - particularly in regard to free speech.

Those incidents, as ludicrous as they are, indicate to me over zealous administration of relatively new laws rather than the impending arrival of a police state.

A lot has been made of the example of Allison Pearson, in her case she libelled 2 Pakistani men as Jew haters in a tweet which she later deleted. There?s an interesting explanation of that case in the latest Private Eye. That one is in no way a freedom of speech issue, though one could argue the police were somewhat heavy handed. Also to interesting to note that for such a freedom of speech warrior she appears very quick to shut down others.

She also has a lot of past form for spreading misinformation.

Ah, Jon Sopel, that totally unbiased tweeter. It does seem very selective who's singled out here for "misinformation", what about Hope Not Hate's Nick Lowles' tweet? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/202...t-acid-attack/

No one is unbiased, but if you think he?s lying about her threat from her lawyers than I?d disagree.

Doesn't answer the issue of how selective he is for his targets.
