I know it's a gamble but I doubt we have a queue of established managers waiting to step in.

People will naturally ask "what has Wood ever done as a manager?" but the same questions were no doubt asked about Mark Robins and Paul Warne when they were first handed the managers job. Neither had managed before and were promoted from within. I'd say they are 2 of our best managers of the past 20 years or so. What they lacked in managerial experience at the time of appoinment was counterbalanced by the fact players would seemingly run through brick walls for them.

This is what we need at RUFC and what we thought Evans would bring. But his methods are dated, the screaming "mad dog" style of management just does not resonate with the players of today.

So to sum up, Wood until the end of the season, see how it goes. If it goes well, extend it. Pelts could have a role too
Robins and Warne are quite clearly intelligent individuals. Whilst Wood is a icon, I really doubt he has got the capacity to be a manager. To be honest, I fear TS pulling the trigger because I suspect he has no idea what/who to bring in next. That said, I would still stick with SE, let him sort it out.

So how does S/E iyo sort it out when players clearly don’t want to play for him

I think it's irrelevant speculating because I think we're a long way from this mattering... but...

Some credible options mentioned above, and Lowe or Wild would be my picks. I like the idea of Wood, but he's closer in time to heading pint pots in Wicko than to being a respected manager, so he may need a DOF of some experience to ease him in. The critical thing though, would be time and space. Whoever did come next is walking into a bit of a mess and would need to be able to move people on and build a good working relationship with RS amongst others.

MT had some good ideas but was poor at implementing them, and arguably poor with recruitment, LR wasn't given time, and SE is increasingly obviously not the right fit, so some patience from fans and the board will be required to untangle some of the missteps made. We've got players now who have worked with 4 different managers and three different sets of ideas when it comes to initial recruitment... that's a sh1t show in anyone's language, and won't be sorted with one transfer window.

Write the season off, and start thinking long term rather than how to quickly get us fighting with more organised, often better funded clubs.

Still a bit early to write things off. Long way to go as Donny proved last year. They might as well knuckle down and let SE take it through. A couple of wins and you just never know with him.

It's important to know when something has become toxic.

Apparantly it became toxic under MT, then under LR. Some people claiming the same now under SE. May be true, may not be.

Steve Cooper sacked by Leicester. Always seems like he's miserable enough to manage us.

How about Donald Trump? Or Donald Duck? Our credibility in the world of football, as a club, is somewhere beneath that of a one-legged wh*ore with bad breath and a colostomy bag.
I seriously fear a long, if not terminal, non-league stint in the pipeline.
And as for the clown(s) that continue to badger for the continuance of the bag of old milk that 'manages' us now....... well I understand from them the demise of this whole f***ed country, never mind the football team.
