We were being battered because our tactics were completely wrong. We needed to just let them have the ball and be a threat on the counter.

I was amongst the first to forecast a defeat, that was always an expected outcome, the issue with the loss today is we lost from a leading position. Of course that lead was going to be under threat but the subs were either the actions of a man who lost the plot or a man who had an eye on Walsall next week.

I didn't see it, but they've been scoring lots of goals in the division above us this season so I can see why SM might not have wanted to just 'let them have the ball' but I didn't see the game.

Thought SM was a tactical genius but apparently entirely the opposite. Using all the subs left the risk of an injured player reducing us to 10.

Expected a heavy loss but we gave it to them.

Won't be long before people are on calling all us who are annoyed or frustrated by today " bedwetters ". Today was thrown away by poor management decisions. Making our team weaker and using all subs so no back up. We also did not recruit well, yes our defence is better but at the cost of a weakened attack and midfield
Yes we have injuries, too many by my account, but still no strength in depth. It's start of Dec and already out of all 3 cups and sliding down the table. Just not good enough!! Spent all out money on the "corporate experience " and not enough on quality on the pitch.

The goal they scored had been coming for ages, they?d hit the bar and had a couple of close calls from us doing the exact same thing. They looked far more dangerous when we had the ball than when they did, the way we played it was naive to the extreme. Made no sense whatsoever.

I've always supported Maynard but this was the last straw, making so may subs in one go completely disrupted us and lost us any chance we may have had. As for bringing Martin on, what a joke, he's shown absolutely nothing in a Notts shirt and Cisse would probably have contributed more. I don't even want to comment on Austin and Brown up front, anything less than a win on Tuesday and Maynard's toast for me.

Our tactics for the second half would?ve been easy for a 12 year old on a computer game - sit deep, stay solid, forget about possession and look to hit them on the counter. As it was, we managed to concede from trying to pass the ball out from the back at about the fif****th attempt. If a manager can?t work out what he should?ve been doing for that second half, he?s got no chance, that was as obvious as it gets.
How many attacking options did we have on the bench?

SM is going to be judged on the league, not a tough away cup tie at Peterborough. Walsall lost 4-0 at home to Charlton today, but I doubt their fans will be screaming SACK THE MANAGER. You?ve got the wrong owners for that kind of message, anyway.

I struggle to believe there was any tactical solution to get us into the 3rd round draw today, even from the 1-2 up position. No personnel solution either.
The thinking behind those subs has to be suspect, but the verdict on SM can't come from today, there's enough to judge him on in what happens in the league this season.
To take us out of a play-off position once might be forgivable. But twice? Probably not. But I think they're going to hit that first target.
