Thread: Lincoln match- how grim will it get?

George Kerr's team came within one goal of keeping us in the Second Division. The following season they reached the Quarter Finals of the League Cup. In 84/85 we were in the promotion places at Christmas, were unbeaten at home and had already won five away. Over the last 33 months we have had four different managers who have won five league games away between them.

There may be factors which mean that many of us don't remember that era too fondly but I don't think it can all be blamed on George Kerr's team management.

George Kerr?s biggest handicap, IMO, was that he followed on from the ?adored national treasure? that was Emlyn Hughes. That plus joining a Rotherham United where the chairman had already spent all the money. Hiding to nothing there. There were other things of course. Similarly, in 1983/84, the ?donkey? Kevin Kilmore (as referenced on here recently) scored 20 goals and was the leading scorer in that seasons League Cup competition. It?s all relative isn?t it.

I'm in Wetherspoons at the moment, debating whether to attend tonight's game, cold weather sat watching hoof ball, or stop at home, watch the game with a bottle of whisky near by, or 7.3% champion beer.

I'm going to be a stay away ST holder tonight. Not even interested whether we win, lose or draw. Something is obviously not quite right within the club. That's a given. Don't fancy sitting around with frozen gonads waiting for journeymen players deciding whether or not they give two hoots about their own personal performances and more importantly stop to think about the paying supporters who care a great deal about their club.
    Sad innit?

I'm really not bothered about going but the Mrs will go on her own if not. My only hope is if we lose Evans gets the boot straight after the game. Even if we win we will be shyte.

Glad I have not gone Brin.
Saw something on e bay I wanted this week, I put a maximum bid in, item purchase closed at 7.10pm turns out someone gazumped me at 7.05 so I put a last seconds bid in, & won the item.
I would have lost the item, if I ventured to the NYS.

I think a lot would settle for 1 point mate, how things are.

Hopefully Evans & the team are on a even keel, & looking for 3 points
