Like McGregor, Grealish and, most recently, Abbott you mean? I know there have been Matty Virtues and Jaden Warners along the way but plenty have worked out well. If we do sign this lad on loan I hope we give him a chance to prove himself before slagging him off. If he turns out to be crap then fair enough but we haven't even signed him yet!

I see Aston Villa are thinking of recalling Louie Barry from Stockport and sending him to the Championship next month.

I wouldn’t be totally surprised if we similarly lose George Abbott, with Spurs looking to send him to a L1 club to hasten his development. Hope not, but I’m sure Spurs (quite rightly) will only be thinking of their own interests. Not sure if there’s a recall clause, but I’d be very surprised if there isn’t. Even if there isn’t, if Spurs want him back, they’ll get him back.

Of course, we could argue that his development is more guaranteed at Notts given his game time here, but playing at a higher level is always going to prove attractive to a PL club.

That Louie Barry looks a serious prospect for sure.

Not sure re Abbott though. He's just about found his feet at this level. He's clearly quality, but he's not head and shoulders above everyone else. He's not even our best player.

I think he'd prefer not to have to travel or move house? Of the teams mentioned, I think we might be front runners.

The only thing is, how would we guarantee him game time when we get all our bodies back?

Can't remember the lads name think it was Virgil ?? My Forest mate said I've seen him play for our under 21's and he's big strong and pacey and he'll do well for Notts turned out he was useless and none of the attributes mentioned.

Virgil Gomis. Part of the Great Signing Frenzy of 2019, as Hardy desperately tried to secure safety by bringing in about 12 players in one week. Good times.

For every Ryan Yates, there will four of five Virgil Gomises. I guess you don't know how good a youngster is until they play men's footeh.
