Whats wrong with our midfielders then? and how come Norwich have took till now to get going this season? And how come our midfield was better than Watfords today? We walked through their midfield for big parts of the match.

One word - Pereira. Quality - Pace . Creativity all what this chap brought and we are lacking!

To compete with the top 3, i e direct promotion, we would desperately need a creative, technically gifted midfielder with pace. We would also need another goal scoring forward, as Maja seems to have hit a drought.

Since we don?t have these players we are nowhere near challenging for direct promotion.

We can compete for the play offs, which in honesty, could end up with a mid table position (often clubs finishing 10-11 are in the race for position 6).

Bang on Swedish. We are what we are - a mid table side with average championship players and manager!

The midfield three has been the poorest part of our squad this season. It?s not necessarily underperformance, Mowatt, Mulumby and Racic have all been ok without being fantastic. Mowatt has been pretty good mostly.

It?s just not a promotion gaining midfield. There isn?t much creative spark, pace or dominance off the ball. Not many goals either. Not bad but not great.

Al rightly points out, a Perreira in this side and its promotion. We need to find the next Dorrans, Koumas or Teixeira.

Tend to agree. We need a pacy and creative midfielder. The question is, where do we get one from? By the way, Southampton have sacked Martin. CC will be associated with that job as well. Mind you, I do not see Wolves or Southampton as being attractive propositions.

I can see what you are saying but most consider Mowatt to be a top midfielder and Molumby is a real force for us. I think were being a bit unfair on them. When you talk about a top quality midfield look at Man City atm. We couldn?t afford the boots of one of their reserve midfielders and they keep losing presently. When we won 6 in the first 7 we had Mowatt and Molumby. No one complained then. Clubs go through patches. Its up to us to be right behind the players and the club through good and bad. Thats just my take.

I fully take your point Boingy and I’m certainly not criticising Mowatt nor Molumby. However, you have to admit that we often lack the creativity to break down a determined defence and the addition of a player capable of doing this would be of great benefit. Being able to obtain such a player is another matter!

Matt is completely correct. I like Mowatt but he's slow and JM too but he lacks quality. The pair would never get you promotion which is a fact and are average championship players. Most of our problems through poor creativity, quick passing and poor service to the likes of Maja comes from the engine of the team which is these two.

Sorry but both players are decent championship players but not in the same class as a Pereira!

Molumby did some pretty good stuff v Watford and scored. Cant ask for much more and he does have some cutting passing ability. We all loved Pareira of course but Im not too distressed by what we have. A better addition of course would always help but who? from where? considering we are still under restrictions as to how much we can spend. Theres a much bigger picture here. This season was never going to be about buying but selling to help balance the books. January will be the same. So lets just enjoy the season wherever it takes us and not diss the players when they are busting a gut each week for a great owner, a great manager who genuinely loves this club for once.
