Surely you'd want someone in for the transfer window to help identify where we need to strengthen?
It's got to be that bit harder to attract decent players to a 4th tier club that's not even in the play off zone.... and arguably nothing says more about your ambition (or lack of) than who your manager is.
Out of interest who would people go for, I can?t see us getting managers working in L1 or ones that have been let go in the Champ, absolutely no chance on Robbins and I tend to think Buckingham might me difficult to get.
Many said we c0cked up not getting Williamson, would they have him now after his bad start at Carlisle?
I don?t know a lot of names but if/when we do replace Maynard I think that person has to have more about him than just being a good coach. Maynard has had us playing some good football at times, just like IB did, but it never felt like we had the edge we did like when LW was in charge.
The difference a manager with a strong personality can make can?t be understated, it?s that final 10-15 percent needed to get success. If we can?t buy our way out of the league (the right way) then I think the brothers need to adjust their metrics when looking for a new man in charge.
Even when things were turning bad with LW I still felt he would turn it around, I never had that feeling with NA, IB and now SM. If I were a betting man I?d wager that the owners will stick this season with Maynard until it becomes clear to them that he won?t take us up?.maybe even until the close season.
What about Dean Brennan? He was the guy who got Wealdstone promoted when Maynard was assistant. He currently has Barnet top of the NL. Plus, he has a big personality and plenty of spirit, which are things we currently lack in our leadership.
Here's that interview of him that was doing the rounds earlier this season:

I'd love our head coach to speak with that level of passion and intensity after a game rather than the usual soundbites.
Not sure about Williamson. He has achieved success, but his stock has certainly plummeted recently. He's not the most inspiring type either.
