Unless we look like being relegated, he should be given until the end of the season at least. Nothing gets fixed in an instant and bringing in someone else is pointless at the minute.

BTW - he had a successful time at Stevenage. Getting them to where he did in their budget is a success. That’s my opinion. His record at Leeds was also decent albeit, it was never a long term thing. The Mansfield fans also hate him because he moved on having done well there too.
Yes the Cambridge win was a fluke, Nombe fell over and the ball hit him on his backside and went in, not even SE would claim that as tactical genius. We have played well at times, but we are not consistent enough. You say he needs time, but it is Evans that mouths off about being in contention before Santa comes, perhaps he should think before he speaks. I understand your view on give him more time, but the risk of that is we get worse rather than better and we do not have the luxury of that happening. I do not think TS is helping him with his cut in playing staff in the summer and the predicted cutting in January as well. One player has already gone and if what is stated in the press comes true we could have a smaller squad in February than we did in September. For me, TS needs to back Evans or get shut, i still think the former would be the right solution because of where we are in the season, that doesn't mean I think he is the right man or he is doing well, because I don't and he isn't. I do agree with you that i am not sure there is anyone to come in at this time and do much better.

Mcwilliams Powell 2 out the 3 yesterday in midfield. Humphreys in defence Odoffin returning to midfield. Another thing I'd sooner Bramall start than James at left back. McCart I prefer to Jules as well. I'd play McGuckin for Wilkes on the right up front then 2 from Green Nombe JCH.

Forget Bramall and Humphries - they’re gone and I’m fully behind that decision. I thought you always said Oddofin should be at CB?

I don’t rate McWilliams but I would have played him instead of Wilks yesterday in hindsight

There is a risk we get worse but the fact is our current run isn?t too bad. We can?t lurch from last weekend when we played well to sacking him for a bad away performance. I don?t know what?s happening with the away form - there?s clearly a confidence issue that means we cannot take the home form into these matches. I guess that?s understandable given the past few years. That?s for SE to solve. If we are weaker come February then TS should step down. If that?s is direction then he should put the club up for sale.

I don't disagree with that except the current run part, as the stats show we are getting a worse PPG output than the overall season PPG. I accept that you can use stats to say anything.
I would love us to go to Lincoln and Huddersfield and play like a team that wants to keep a clean sheet, a little more defensive try to get a couple of draws and keep it tight. Going away from home playing 4 forwards and then having 5 when chasing the game, seems a reckless approach. I don't think we adapt to suit the game and opposition and I don't think we use width as well as we could, as others have said when we play with natural width and get crosses into the box we do look more dangerous. Wigan and Stockport won't be easy games but it has to be 4 points minimum because of our shocking away form. We will see

We will indeed. As I said in other posts - I wouldn’t play 4 up front. The two in midfield aren’t good enough for that. That’s why we need at least 3 midfielders in this time. I would sell CT to generate some money to make the necessary purchases.

For me. Any manager who has over a 40% win rate after being a manager for over 1000 games is successful. Evans is up there with some very big names and managers who are deemed to be successful
Im was meaning purely at league one level as the original comment from NWC specifically stated ?at this level?. His record in league two and non league is fantastic and can?t be denied.

I was gonna post this last night but couldnt be arsed.
Steve Evans win rate is more or less the same as he left the first time. His first spell after 172 games managed stood at 41.3.
After 29 games managed in his second spell its 41.4. That said his lost rate is much higher at 37.9 compared to 32.6 in his first spell.
Only 5 managers at the club have managed to get over the 40% win rate over the last 100 years. They are the facts.
    Reg Freeman - 48.3
    Ian Porterfield - 45.8
    Mark Robins - 43.4
Ronnie Moore - 41.4 (second spell)
Paul Warne - 41.3 (not including caretaker)
Ive not watched as much as Id have liked this season but some of the football I have seen hasnt looked that bad.

Bending the stat rules mate to get Moore and warne on the list. Both are around 38% win rate whist incharge at rufc. Stats are pointless though as Evans is an embarrassing loudmouth dinosaur cnt (allegedly)
