If he is, then we'll be giving away a very good goal scorer who would actually operate at his best in the formation we've playing in the past couple of weeks, with a proper front two and Dan Crowley sitting behind. Even allowing for the lengthy injury, bad memories and the general ignorance of the football fan mentality, it amazes me how quickly people forget what a threat Scott was for us in the promotion season, and his goal record at Gateshead. If Jatta or McGoldrick got injured and Scott got the chance for a run of games, bringing his match fitness back to optimum, I've got no doubts he would get goals. The one he scored when only half-fit against Leicester U21s showed what a class finisher he is.

I can't believe that Maynard would think Martin / Brown can bring more to the party than Scott.

Perhaps he came back as a favour whilst McGoldrick was struggling or perhaps his mental health issues were family related and the club have agreed to let him spend time with them.

I'd be disappointed if he left on loan or permanent in January.
