    Intent to Win

Rarely seen in the last 15 games under CC but seen today - the intent to win a game right to the end on the front foot.

Well done lads today as exciting football against the league leaders away. Well done Brunty for the front foot style!

Tend to agree baggieal buddy. A much more positive performance when 1-1 than previously evidenced.
Having said that, i don’t think I would have brought on Cole, Dobbins with Racic on the bench ?
    No complaints at all.

If CC had been in charge with his ultra cautious style we would have got beat

We certainly would not have been attacking with gusto for the winner though - that?s for sure!

What happened on Thursday then? The difference today was without Mowatt we couldn't play the way we usually do with Malumby and Diakite in the centre, but they give us more energy and we played a little further up the pitch, Sheffield tried to bully us but Malumby, Bartley and Heggam were excellent and stood up to them .

Definitely showed more attacking intent and energy than recent performances and nice to see us fight for every ball for a change (unlike most of the game on Boxing Day) but whilst I may have accepted one of them being subbed, to take off all three of our players most likely to create or score (Grant, Johnson and Fellows) seemed a very strange move. That said, a much more committed performance and a more entertaining watch for it.

Wilder claimed he "wasn't being arrogant" but that his side were the better team. Don't know what game he was watching! In fact, there was very little between the two and if not a repeat of the infamous Battle of Bramhall Lane, it was still quite a tasty match more akin to a derby game so a good watch.

If they keep playing like this under Brunty and co. I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to get a new coach in, probably better to concentrate on the Transfer Window.

This is how the players felt about Carlos.
Molumby added of the former head coach's departure: It's strange because no-one wanted him to leave, the respect was there, from the club and players he had a lot of respect from us.

Its a real pity that some of the fans arent as respectful. Short memories. A manager does as well as Carlos and ends up being maligned. God help a manager who achieves less.

In fairness, I don’t think that he was maligned by the majority of fans and most are sorry that he has left, I certainly am However, I do understand that he could be too cautious and perhaps should have been more expansive when necessary. This doesn’t mean that he wasn’t respected as few managers get things correct all of the time. I have to admit that on occasions I was bored with our approach but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t respect him and what he achieved for this club.

To my mind, history will judge him as a success, and rightly so, but I do accept the opinion of others who perhaps didn’t like his style of play. The next appointment is very important and as the saying goes: Be careful what you wish for.
