Foot note - special mention to those Duke's Bar regulars who advised SE on the formation and personnel changes. I won't name them here to protect their modesty other than to say, if only he had listened to you sooner!
Spot on. Many of the changes made today have been mentioned on here for months and indeed, if SE had taken heed we wouldn't be in such a pickle.

    Humphries very good
As for your comment about the regulars why can?t you just praise a result instead of having a dig.
    How old are you 10?
    Have another guess

Totally agree, in fact, when he gets home I will tell him just that!

Deserved win but still need squad freshening up to climb the table. 2 midfielders wide right player big forward priorities ASAP! Better performance today.

Spot on - midfield has been the problem since August. Tiehi will be off to Derby shortly which will free up some cash.

Don't see how NWC, JCH hasn't a run in him, Nombe did some mileage today.

MoM Humphreys, defensive midfielder, now we need a attacking midfielder also

Lincoln City not a good team, but better than Northampton Town.

Lincolns forwards were like our forwards this season, could not get a shot on target to score.

That was a lot better, we saw players putting in a shift and looking like a group of players that cared and playing for RUFC. It is one game but a good way to start 2025. I thought the Rotherham fans were excellent, you could hear them all game, have a safe trip home. The result is what really matters, but a clean sheet and a decent performance makes such a difference.

No idea if some of the selection decisions were planned or forced, and certainly they raised questions before kick-off. If they were planned, I am sure SE will tell us. Humphries in midfield was excellent; this club cannot afford to lose players of that quality in this transfer window. I thought all four midfielders did well including Macdonald, until he tired. As others have said the defence looked solid and Phillips did well when he was needed, some of his kicking leaves something to be desired, but otherwise he did well.

I thought the front two put a good shift in, and both pressurising the defence and keeper played a part in a very well taken goal. Nombe has his faults, but his work rate is first rate, Wilks was a lot better today. I think we have seen today how much the team suffers with a CF that doesn’t move, doesn’t work hard enough and leaves us short of a player at key times. It was a big decision by SE to leave him out and he deserves credit for taking that decision.

I hope that some of the press comments and interviews about players leaving have been mind games, because seriously we cannot lose players that can play when motivated, players like Humphries, Wilks and even McWilliams. There is no guarantee that we would get players as good in the window. We need to add to this squad and not lose players from it. If it is mind games from SE and it works going forward, well ok, but it seems a risky approach when dealing with people that you depend on for your job.

For now let us enjoy the win and the performance and hope we can battle as well at Huddersfield and perhaps nab a point there.

If running about was the desired outcome, then we should have signed Forest Gump.

Nombe is poor - he was poor in the Championship and he is poor in league one. If TS had not been duped by Taylor into spending ?1 million on him, he would have been shipped out months ago. But of course we have egos to protect!
