Personally I think we were most fortunate to have had Carlos Corberan for the last two or so years.

I really hope we make the right appointment, however, like Swedish, I have little knowledge of Luke Williams. I?m just keeping my fingers crossed he does not impress in interview. I think though, that we are stuck with him and a few Baggies might rue the day they wanted CC out, albeit it was his choice to leave.

If (IF) local press reports in Swansea and the Midlands are anything to go by we have no interest in him.

Seems as though his agent has been very busy linking him to us and when asked about our vacancy Williams himself has been flirting and batting his eyelids in our direction.

Placed himself in a very awkward position with Swansea supporters if so, especially with a game against us coming up.

Whatever the outcome he and his agent haven't covered themselves in glory....... more like a pile of Welsh sheep s hit in this instance.

Short term success is unlikely for us due to financial issues that are ongoing. Finding someone who will develop younger players and play a brand of football similar to premier league clubs (I.e. ball on the floor and high press) is clearly going to be the strategy.

Unfortunately, I don?t think we?ll get a manager that ticks everyone?s box. We?re not in a fantastic position and I don?t think there?s an obvious choice out there. I can see the appointment being quite left field.

Williams has a decent CV, he?s an up and comer. I do think he?s handled the interest in him poorly and that may have turned off the owners. Can?t ignore the thrashing they had a pompey either.

I think whoever is appointed will indicate the first real football challenge to the new owner. I'd leave it with Brunt & Co for the remainder of the season. Bound to be others getting sacked soon enough. Consolidate this season and review this summer.
We have a decent/poor squad for championship football as things stand.
I would feel more confident if we had a better scouting set up but alas we don't. Youth is lacking big time at the club and really is a testament to how football has evolved.
