    Liverpool v. United.

There?s doubt if the game is going ahead and a decision will be made at mid-day. In the past it would be decided by the pitch being playable and nothing else. Nowadays, with health and safety and litigation, everything has to be considered. Yes, someone could slip over going to the ground but there are risks whatever you do in life. If I had slipped over going to a game, well it as one of those things. Not today! We really do live in a ?nanny state.?

This claims business for falling over on slippery ground is a strange one and I wonder whether some of it is a myth. I was quite badly injured (well, I think it’s quite bad) the week before Christmas. I tripped over a kerb in an unlit car park behind a local community centre and I have consulted solicitors regarding a claim for expensive dental treatment but have been advised that it would be unlikely to succeed. Apparently, kerbs are not considered to be hazards and there is no right to light, even in a pitch black public car park. I would have thought that similar logic would apply if you go out in the snow or walk in icy conditions, you have to look out for yourself, as the solicitor told me that I should have done. I may try another solicitor!

All this has put me pretty much out of circulation for some considerable time, probably until early February and my advice to all of you is to take great care going out and about, you do not want to find yourselves in A&E, I was in there for twelve and a half hours! Horrendous.
