They were happy for us to have the ba, cos we weren’t going to do anything with it.

We actually started well. Totally bossing the middle, winning the ball back quickly & moving it forward, but that overall performance summed us up perfectly.

Fragile & mentally weak. Fold at the first bit of adversity.

We just have no defence. Absolutely none. Simple long balls do us every game. They cant do the absolute basics.

As it stands, we have no CH available for next week as frankly MacDonald is just a liability & shouldnt play ever again. Ok, Motherwell probably eased off a bit 2nd half, but the fact Nilssen & Polvara looked way more secure and solid than the clown show CHs that started tells you everything you need to know.

Similarly we have very little up front. Decision making, runs in the box, crosses, and final balls are almost always dreadful.

We need 2 CHs, a left back and a number 9 as an absolute priority.

Failure to move heaven & earth to start getting them in this week is a dereliction of duty by all at the club.

I also thought that we started off quite well with the 433 formation working to an extent.

Unfortunately the same issues we have had for the last few years have never been resolved. Our crossing and set pieces are terrible and as soon as anyone puts a bit of pressure on us we crumble.

I thought we played well in the second half with 10 men but again the final ball was not good enough.

I would like to think that we wont see some of those players in a dons shirt again, some to me are maybe ok as squad players and 1 or 2 are good enough to be classed as first team players.

I fully expect a few signings this week and possibly a few to go this month if we can find replacements even if it?s just short term solutions for some of them.

Have to say as well I appreciate people are frustrated with the run we are on but to even hint at wanting Thelin gone is madness.

This usually grows arms and legs after one or two start with the wanting the manager sacked pish so thats a concern to me.

Even if this run goes on we need to give Thelin the time to build something. If we do get rid of him in the next few months we will be back in exactly the same position this time next year like we have been year after year.

Cormacks been after Thelin for 2 years so he needs to back him and ignore the zoomers on twitter.

Utter madness. But empty vessels make the most noise and Cormack is a law unto himself. The Warnock debacle highlighted that.

Hopefully Burrows keeps him reigned in. Club have always made it clear this is a long time appointment but like I’ve banged on enough about I’ m still worried by the lack of a Technical Director which suggests Cormack is still not taking advise on board.

Ironically feel almost that Thelin’s start that has done for him, falsely raised the zoomers expectations.

To still be 4th with this squad is a miracle.

    Couldn?t agree more with you.

I still think there?s major issues at the board level and that whole independent review last season was to take the heat off the board.

The final outcome of that was a technical director needed to come in yet that still hasn?t happened.

I noticed Stewart Milne was at the game today sitting beside Alan Burrows. Why he?s still here hanging around like a bad smell after selling the club to Cormack is ridiculous.

I was guilty of a bit of pant pishing earlier on in the thread but theres huge question marks over the manager.

Every c*nt with a passing interest in Scottish football knows that Motherwell, St. Mirren & Kilmarnock are essentially the same club with the same players with the same managers playing the same way.

    It?s not good enough

There must have been some sort of incident to cause this slump, such a huge collapse is just not normal.

This I'm afraid is normal. The start of the season was the big anomaly. Every season has more or less been a clone of the last since DM left. The amount of investment Cormack now puts into his manager will dictate the remainder of our season. I predict lots of excuses again on that front and we will finish bottom 6 again. What does worry me about Thelin now though is his complete lack of faith in our youth despite the dross we have as first... and second pick. A worrying waste of money if they can't do any better.

This is normal - its the first 3 months of the season that were not normal.

The collapse is because they are fragile, weak minded players who fold under the slightest adversity and pressure - thats been a running theme for most of the last 30 years tbh.

Lots of the starters and squad today have been shyting the bed and letting us down for several years now - this is what they are.

The miracle is the tune Thelin somehow got out of them for 3 months.

He started slowly at Elfsborg by all accounts, so we need to keep the heid and give him time - though he needs some significant short term fixes in now as well as any of the longer term targets from Scandinavia that may be available.
