It is difficult to know for certain who would be able to make the step up to L1, but if last season is anything to go by, we would probably need a decent number of new signings to be competitive.
Bass seems capable of playing in L1. Slocombe and Stone will not be here.
I think McDonald and Cundy would struggle to make the step up. Bedeau and Ness seem to have the physical and footballing profiles to make the step up. Macari I think would be able too as well.
Matty Platt is an interesting one. A superb defender who regularly makes the right choices. I do wonder if he has the pace to step up, but feel if the system is right around him, he would be fine.
Jones would be fine. Austin and Gordon would struggle. Tsaroulla would be another interesting one. I think with a good run in the side he would be an asset in L1.
Palmer would be fine but would benefit from a solid L1 operator alongside him. Abbott will be somewhere else but I wonder if we did go up if we could snag him for another season. Robbo and Hinchy are of an age where they have time to improve so would be worth squad places. I do not think I have seen enough of Edwards to make that call yet.
Crowley would be fine. I would put Grant in the same category as Robbo and Hinchy. I think Martin would be an interesting one too, especially given his recent upturn in form.
Brown and Scott will be gone at the end of the season you would have thought. Jatta would be fine.
McGoldrick is another interesting one. I wonder if, regardless of what level we are at, he would be worth a final year. Invaluable experience and still contributing.
Overall, I could see a core of the following being able to do something or have time to improve;
Bass
Ness, Macari, Platt and Bedeau
Jones and Tsaroulla
Palmer, Robbo and Hinchy
Crowley and Grant
Jatta
Question marks next to; Edwards, Martin and McGoldrick.
If you go off that, all areas would need strengthening with particular emphasis on your front line and central midfield.
Some fantastic replies and a bit of consensus! I was thinking possibly central midfield given Abbott is a loanee and for all the skill and guile of Palmer, we don't have too much physicality in this area. I should add I haven't seen Edwards and some of the other signings play.
As I mentioned on another post, a pacey, clever striker would be good. Either to come off the bench or play in space when teams are giving us the high press.
These types of players are hard to find, but I'm sure there's a Jamie Vardy or Ian Wright out there.

To be fair I didn?t even realise he played for Bradford now?.so he must?ve been shocking against us 🤦*♂️ My point stands though, he ran the show against us last season for Stockport, in both games, and he was more than just a creative player?.in fact I?m sure he played the deeper role. He has more height and muscle than what we?ve got at present too.
Besides, I wasn?t saying to sign him necessarily but a player that I perceived to have his qualities, when he was good!
For me, I'd love some more pace in the team to enable us to counter attack better. For those games where we need a slightly different approach to find a way through teams.
Plain and simple for me. A combative midfielder and a great striker.
Caught 10 mins of Magpies Circle. Stall believes on ability we are a top 3 side and also says it will be difficult to bring in a No9 willing to play second fiddle.
CAM/RM, maybe a loan from the Championship.
Most important - a tough but talented midfield enforcer - we need a bit of steel to go with all the pretty passing.
