There is not a player in the last 5 games that deserves to be dropped so young Will is gonna have to earn his spot... look forward to seeing what he does in a Notts shirt...

[QUOTE=Boomerangpie;40633323]Just as my memories of Vinny Arkins began to fade they are restored with this signing.

i actually liked Vinny Arkins , but i think i was in the minority of one .

I wonder, will Will be our penalty taker, he seems very accomplished?

The last time we signed a player from Shelbourne (though he came via Man Utd) he became IMO, our best ever left back,.
Seems Ireland has been kind to us in the past with left backs , Ray o' and Nigel Worthington, didn't we sign him from Balymena.

No idea where Worthington came from but Ray'O was at Shelbourne then Man Utd before joining us.

I agree with Irish, nobody should be dropped and the young fella will have to wait his turn for either a player in poor form or an injury and neither scenario is ideal but he looks like someone who would open a game up. I like to see a player, hugging the touchline or using his pace to run on to a ball played in to space because that is part of a wingers job too, not just taking a man on but it also occupies a defender and creates space through the middle.

I played a reasonable standard of football as a winger and can only say that like a striker, you thrive on the right kind of service or you're anonymous. Not all passes have to be to feet, playing the ball in to an open space for a winger to chase, should always be an option that a team with a speedy winger is looking to play, sadly, you don't see it much now with possession based football.

If he proves himself in that role, he will see more regular starts.

    Just a guess.
That seems just about right to me as well, It could happen on Saturday if there is another quirky pre-match warm up injury like there was a week or so ago.

Must admit though that it sounds appealing to watch 2 outstanding wingers on each flank pulling defenders left right and centre which opens up the box for Jatta, Didsy et al.

Clinical finishing is more of an issue than pulling defenders apart for me as we are doing that. How many games have we said this season" should be out of site or someone is going to get a hammering?" Walsall being a prime example that cost us. Swindon, should of had a bag full.

    Looks a decent bench that.
