Jeepers just had a scroll through this and there's some proper knuckle draggers on this forum.

Musk just so you're all clear is doing what he's doing for personal gain, half of what he says is lies and the parts that are true are inflated x10. He bought a social media platform to win an election by doing the exact same stuff, though with Kamala as the opposition he didn't need to bother.

Most French press & media plus European press are focusing on the Musk story too.

With the gist of reporting on the ethics rules for advisory committees being minimal, meaning that Musk will not be required to divest from any of his conflicting investments nor will any limits be imposed on his outside income.

Musk & his businesses depend on federal government contracts & are regulated by numerous federal agencies.

One can easily understand why someone like Musk would want to influence those contract awards those agencies. But allowing Musk to interfere with contract awards or enforcement actions is the definition of a conflict of interest.

These potential conflicts due to Musk & co business interests either involving the government or subject to government regulation are fertile ground for potential waste, abuse & fraud, making the role of truly independent watchdogs, like Inspectors General, all the more critical

With many critics now expecting multiple conflicts ahead with Musk and the Doge panel then Musk is likely to seek further privatisation of Nasa, which will directly benefit his company SpaceX too.

As Musk is likely to seek deregulation of an assortment of federal agencies that provide protection for the public such as the National Highway Safety Administration, the Securities & Exchange Commission & the Environmental Protection Agency, then all of which will further enrich Musks investments in Tesla, Cybersecurity & Cryptocurrency which is the conclusion of most European press & media reporting this week.

If Trump facilitates this kind of interference by Musk & his cronies then the USA will no longer have a government of the people, by the people, for the people & instead will be a government of billionaires, by billionaires, for billionaires, some may say.

    Just saying

I'm a 1000 percent behind divestiture and eliminating the extensive amount of conflict of interests that exist in our rulers and the spouses.

All presidents, senators, congressmen and high ranking government employees should be forced to divest their stock, bonds and other financial parties until they return to the private sector. I also support the elimination of their "separate but equal" pension, retirment and lifetime medical insurance and roll it into the social security, 401k's and obamacare that the rest us (taxpayers) use.

I also believe that any insider trading information that they use or lead should result in a felony and loss of license, employment and jail time which is what the private sector follows.

Finally, and most simply, any law, regulation or ordinance they pass must include them.

These are all very basic, fair and common sense but none of them apply currently. Musk is a saint compared to these criminals that enter into "civil service" with little money, real estate or other assets and leave wealthy beyond the average American's reach. Pelosi has outperformed the stock market by 370% the last 20 years. She's worth 400 million and never had a job that paid over $250,0000 annually.

Totty America is already there not just Musk. Trump threatening his biggest neighbor and threatening to go to war with Denmark and Panama goes against there constitution and the slogan we are a mighty power to bring peace on earth I have seen over the years America do some bad things secretly but this 2 are doing it openly. 2 Clowns a circus would not even hire.

PS- their seperate but equal pension plan pays more when they are "retired" than their annual salary when they "worked". It's also fully funded. None of the money was taken and government "IOU's" issued. The retirement plan the rest of us serfs have to contribute to has been looted of over $37,000,000,000,000 of our money and our employers money and replaced with "government bonds" issued by the same people that have their own "seperate but equal" retirement plan that only they can become a member of.

400 mil is nothing this days she could make that in a year with speech's so on. We have billionaires here in the 30s how they got there no one really knows and there are not even looked at. We have a system here called the NDIS a government scheme to help disability people and 44.3 billion is put in it every year. Private organizations and criminals thrive on it with most of the money going in there pockets hence becoming millionaire's with out much effort at all while people in wheelchair's etc are left to fend by themselves and there families. The world is a corrupt place everywhere you see from shopping to holidays insurance so on nothing is of limits. It's in the two hard basket and most people don't care.

Convenient post. No mention of the 25K people that died (many Americans) along with the $375 milllion (600 billion in todays dollars) that the US spent to build this for the American hemisphere. China is working on taking over the operation of the canal. There is a contract with the US that Panama signed when it was turned over to them for $1. They have abrogated the contract. It's not really complicated. Shut down the canal or restrict it to chinese ships only and you impact all of the worlds economy and security. You keep living in your fantasy land that the chinese will be benevolent operators of this ***** canal to the world. I prefer asserting control so that china does not end up controlling it.

Greenland is a ***** strategic outpost for the Americas. With the russians and chinese creating shipping channels through the artic the world commerce situation is rapidly changing. I"m sure that the Russians and Chinese will be benevolent caretakers on these new shipping routes and will gladly let the US, UK, EU and anyone else that trades outside their country.

You might want to research what the sentiment of the citizens of Greenland or Panama is regarding being controlled by Russians or Chinese is vs the US. Denmark is unable to stand up to the Russians or Chinese.

BTW, I'm sure that Aussie ships are allowed to travel around the China sea freely and without any hassle. They are such benevolent stewards of any area that they claim is theirs. They'll be just as benevolent with the Panama Canal and the Artic passages.
