Agreeing with the two of you about Wilson and wondering if Joe Ward isn’t another who hasn’t been given the chance to perform to his strengths. If I remember correctly he was often used as a RB last season - prior to the arrival of Nyambe - and was a defensive disaster, but he’s a winger and on the rare occasions he’s been played in his preferred position he’s proved to be both quick and an excellent crosser of the ball.

Ward likewise, although his cards been marked a bit by the length of time he's been out with injury. Verses Wilson I'd put him less exciting/more traditional/not sure about how effective going forward, worse defending (and both worse than Nyambe hence MA and my own 'selections')

being serious now. We still have a boat load of Champs players, coming to the end of their contracts, who would be ripe for a loan/buy option.
The rumour is Bowler, going to Blackpool on loan?
What a waste if thats true.

Hopefully we learned our lesson with Fornah.

The tone of what I've read is that Wash simply doesn't want to go. How true that is, is of course, up for discussion. Fact remains that, even if PW told Wash he wasn't going to play a single second this season, he could still refuse to go.

Looking at our current squad and having them all fit, I actually think we could put out a pretty strong starting XI

    JWZ
    Nyambe Nelson Cashin Elder
    Adams Ozoh Kenzo
    Wilson Brown Yates

The "back 8" is, IMO, self explanatory, The front 3? I think Wilson would be more creative and a greater threat than Jackson, Brown at #9 as he can play with his back to goal, can hold the ball up and bring others into the game, Yates would be better playing off Brown ratehr than being the #9 himself. Looking at those as a front 3, I find myself thinking that it looks somewhat like, but not of the same quality unfortunately, the early 70s front 3 of Hector, O'Hare and Hinton.
If Washington doesn't want to go, the club could still deregister him and leave him to play in the u21's for the rest of the season, sure there would be a hit on wages but hey that happens sometimes. otherwise a mutual termination of contract is an option.

Ward's issue is he has hardly been fit, but then that applies to a number of others. I think its a wee bit insulting to Warne to blame warne for the injury problems with loan players. A loan player is often a gamble, one can get a higher quality player than the club can afford, but often the reason that players is available is due to injuries/fitness issues. Even with a rising young star the gamble may not be fitness, but can he adjust to the higher level of competitive football.

Given derby are still operating at a level below many of the championship rivals, my view is that overall the recruitment has bee good. Good enough to secure promotion in the 2nd season after administration and good enough to at present only be on the fringes of a relegation battle.

If (unlikely) no plyer comes in, then I still think we would survive, but it will be rather more comfortable if we can get a couple in.

Rumour - Lars Jorgen Salvesen, Norwegian striker, signed and on his way. ?800K fee.

He's 28 and will be 29 next month.

True? No idea but the source has been right before and he's not one to spout huge amounts meaning he's bound to be right once in a while...

Other reports saying 2.25M GBP! I would be absolutely gobsmacked if we paid that much... or anywhere near it for that matter.
