What's the point in keeping someone who doesn't want to be at the club. Get rid and cash in..Unless DC is absolutely stinking out the place, kicking balls, cones and manakins all about the training ground and making the life of the squad and Management Team and absolute misery, I am struggling to reconcile with him being allowed to leave for another L2 club.
To date, DC has 38 goal involvements in 69 appearances (20 goals and 18 assists). That is better than a goal or assist every other game. If we take the league only, we have 35 goal involvements in 64 appearances. Again, the same ratio.
That is a demonstrable amount of quality we are allowing to leave.
My biggest issue with the whole thing, if it happens, is that he is being allowed to go to another L2 club. A L2 club who could conceivably challenge us for promotion.
I 100% understand the Radar model and am massively in favour of it. I am also overjoyed that the Radar model has some real world flex; Bass, Bedeau, Platt, Bostock and Jones are great examples. I am delighted we have players people want to buy. I think our recruitment has generally been superb. But this is a massive call.
Jarvis and Whitaker are your classic Radar signings. We have Grant who we have wanted for a while. Edwards can play in the 10 and has obvious ability but unproven due to his limited involvement. Martin is showing signs. Brown definitely has something about him but has not featured much.
None of us really know what DC is like, despite some proper drivel on here, and nobody really knows what the fee is. Nobody really knows if this is true at all.
Like I have said here and previously, DC is not beyond critique. He is not the messiah (neither is he a very naughty boy) but his quality is so blindingly obvious, some of the reactions on this thread beggar belief.
Unless he is the baddest of apples in the bunch, he simply has to be kept.
