So the day has arrived and whilst Trump actually behaves in Presidential fashion ( at least for today), we get his "No. 1 bud",giving a Nazi salute ......

Tens of thousands of long standing residents, US tax payers and those who have raised families in one of Americas greatest cities are tonight fearful of being detailed and deported by US military personnel. Nazi Germany revisited in the 21st century in the land of the free.......what a sick joke.

@ WTF11 you are so clueless about the US that I have to wonder in what other categories are you also clueless. The only people who need to worry about being deported, and the name kinda gives it away, are....ILLEGAL immigrants. I typed the key word in capitals for you. You see it?
America is in a sorry state. Trump is a patriot and will fix it. He won the election for the 3rd time. Your mate Joe, busy pardoning his corrupt family and mass murderer Fauci etc. Maybe you need to tear your eyes from the lying BBC.....the liars that told us that Joe was sharp as a tack, that Hunter's laptop was a Russian hoax, that men can get pregnant, that the Covid "vaccine" was safe and effective, that the US southern border was secure, that Kamala was a worthy VP, that J6 was an insurrection etc. If someone predicted Leeds win 8-0 in every game, how long before you stopped listening to them? 8 years?

In terms of being clueless, you should look in the mirror occasionally.

I'm well aware of what cohort Trump and his acolytes are targetting, and as of 2022, the estimate was that there were 11 million undocumented immigrants lived in the United States, comprising 3.3 percent of the total population and 23.8 percent of the immigrant population. THATS who will be looking over their shoulder now Trump has been inaugurated.

As to what the deportations might do?

Of course, given the antipathy that you and others show for anything that emanates from what could even tangentially be considered an "authorised" source, you'll discount that report. I suppose we will see if the deportations go ahead in the number that is referred to, what the effect will be (I wouldn't be a farmer in the southern states thats for sure, ploughing your crop back into the ground after seeing it rot for want of someone to pick it isn't a pleasant experience).

BTW, I'm no advocate of Joe Biden, and all the drivel you spout about him and the other stuff aren't relevant, as they relate (if at all) to the past not the future, which is what worries me (and a few billion others)

The anti-defamation league (and organisation which fights anti-semitism in the USA) has publicly stated that the gesture by Musk was nothing more than an awkward gesture and certainly not the salute you inferred it was.

Why do you constantly have to demean and argue with people and just be objectionable to anyone with a different view? This is a football forum yet you seem to want to opine on anything and everything beyond that and attack people who disagree. It?s a forum where people come for light hearted fun.

    Sad really but not surprising.

You do realize that their is no such thing as an undocumented immigrant? It's a term created to hide the the fact they are all criminals. US law clearly states that any anyone entering the country without a legally issued visa or passport is an Illegal and subject to arrest and deportation. They are aliens since they were not born in the US or in a US territory.

Not opposed to legal immigration but strongly opposed to illegal aliens invading our country. I do understand your position. Your love for big corporations, croney captitalists and top down government control matches up perfectly with bringing in a bunch of illegal aliens and exploiting them for cheap labor, disposable and unsafe jobs, maids, nannys, gardeners and *** trafficing and drug running. They are the perfect work animals so that the elite don't have to soil themselves with illegal, banal or menial tasks.

You can word smith it anyway you wish. A bank robber is not an undocumented withdrawer. The fact is that they are here against the law.
Only the congress can change US immigration policy not some corrupt and senile old politician. He had not authority to let in 11 million unvetted illegal aliens.

I'm always amazed at people like you that can't seem to understand a country without borders is not a country. It's more like a tribal society like afghanistan or angola. Frankly, if you can convince enough people to let in anyone you want without vetting you are welcome to do in in the UK. However, you really might want to stay out of telling other countries how to run themselves. From what I see in the news your immigration system doesn't seem to be a model that others want to follow... unless you are a groomer.

Our immigration rules have been a mess for years Spaldy and even where rules exist it?s an entirely different matter of enforcing them.

It is interesting to see the stance of many so called liberal countries such as Denmark and Sweden who are taking a much harder line - somewhat successfully and removing the attractions of moving there.

France, Italy and the UK are a little overwhelmed by the influx over the last 10 to 20 years and often don?t have the infrastructure and resources to deal with influxes in such huge numbers.

It doesn?t seem to matter much what the political persuasion of government in the UK there has been a seeming inability to understand concerns of existing citizens, an inability to deal with the problem and an unwillingness to have a proper debate.

The current administration at times just brands anyone who raises a concern as being a far right racist. We are increasingly behaving in a way and writing cheques we can no longer afford.

The danger of just borrowing more and more is that government appears to then not be that bothered about balancing the books. The sadness being that the poorest are often then affected the most as governments can?t then afford to provide the basis services people pay their taxes for.

I suspect it?s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

There was an interesting project New Labour did in Africa about 2000 where they invested in the local economy and provided funding and training to make the country better and as a result the economy and security improved and people didn?t want to leave as much.

What Trump promises are made of dreams and can fix any country. I for one wish we had someone like that here. Now will he act on anything only time will tell. Some are weird like Tariffs in a cost of living crisis around the world how t f would that work? More expensive prices, people don't have money how can that benefit a country? Fng China is the best thing that can ever happen. If countries went back to basics and made there own things they would not even be talked about. Here our steel and ores are bought by China 75% of it but now it's in steep decline and never to go back up again. Country is doomed as it's the only profits the country makes and with no within infrastructure eg manufacturing as we have sold all our souls to China Australia will be just a low populated third world country. So I hope what Trump preaches comes true for Americas sake as i don't want them to be like us. Trump needs to wake up and somehow gets rid of the bad influencers around him Musk Bezos And the f wit running facebook.

The USA also pays a disproportionate amount to fund a lot of world bodies. Pulling funding from the WHO is an interesting first shot no doubt designed to make other countries pay their share.

The next few years look like being anything but boring.
