It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this is SE himself triggering the rumour, the club aren't exactly supporting him at the moment. he is clear he wants Odoffin to stay and for the club to address the contract, the club has done NOTHING all season on this. The club isn't exactly backing SE with signings and have given him a squad that you can fit in a transit van.

It'd make more sense for Bolton to wait a week or two and just go for Warne if he becomes available, with a much better track record in League One.

Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has entered the frame to replace Ian Evatt as Bolton Wanderers manager, and has supporters among the club's hierarchy, after the 43-year-old was sacked by the Greater Manchester side on Wednesday morning.

That's according to Alan Nixon, who also reports that former Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher, who is currently out of work, is also in the race to fill Wanderers' managerial vacancy.
