Commander in Chief perhaps should not be permitting military aircraft to be operating on different frequencies around a very busy airport. Or maybe the control tower was understaffed. Or maybe the controller should have ORDERED the chopper to move to a specific position. The cause of the accident is being questioned by some very skilled people who will ensure they have all the available data at hand - not some loud mouthed megalomaniac trying to score political points. Wouldn't surprise me if there are strikes as a result of this. By the way, at least one major airline will not operate in and out of Washington DC airport at night because of their concerns about safe operating procedures.
I am saying that preliminary reports are that the tower wasn't being correctly manned (or wo-manned). I highlighted an extremely serious aviational issue that occurred in 2018/2019, that the then President, had to step in on and make a quick decision, after the Federal Aviation Administration had procrastinated. The FAA's delay in action could have possibly resulted in the deaths of many people.

Trump has had ongoing issues with the FAA and it was by no means a secret that he wasn't happy with how they recruited employees. If they do have issues with the quality of recruited staff, I am still in the camp of addressing them immediately.

I feel that the US (like many other countries) is on the verge of major operational issues because of it's public service hiring policy of the last few years.

    I hope I'm wrong though.

The left-wing media are also lining up to say that it was ACTUALLY Trump who could be to blame for the accident as he has frozen all recruitment in the FAA since he came to power, ten days ago. However, after using that as a headline in some reports, later on it states that it was top end hiring that a freeze had been placed on and it wouldn't have had any impact on the accident.

You just don't get it do you, you're still a million miles away. It's not about the rights, wrongs or possible causes of this, it's about a President trying to make political capital of a tragic incident. Your tongue is so far up Trump's arse I doubt you'll ever get it.

Anyone defending Trump?s comments on this should hang their head in shame.

You are a very angry person who turns to abuse when you don't get your own way. Bit of a pattern there.

What I get is that, Trump has said for a while that there are issues with the recruiting process at the FAA. When there are problems with recruiting, i.e. you recruit the wrong people, it can cause issues, sometimes catastrophic issues.

It's easy for someone who never flies anywhere to say lets all sit around, sing kumbaya and see if we can come to an amicable agreement and then do a press conference where someone stands at the pulpit, with twenty diverse employees/colleagues stood behind them, nodding while the speech is made to say errors were made, but we won't make them in the future.

For me, if a problem has been previously raised and not fixed, I want someone to stand up immediately and say, this ongoing, previously highlighted issue could have been what was a contributing factor to the accident and we have to investigate it now.

This is not an issue that he has just talked about today. In fact he is currently signing an act that was drawn up on the 22nd January about this very thing.

Just like he talked about the lack of action from FEMA in North Carolina and Georgia and then in Florida right after the two hurricanes - lets wait for an inquiry.

Just like he talked about no water in fire hydrants and lack of qualified fire fighters in Los Angeles - lets wait for an enquiry.

He got immediate emergency action in all of those catastrophes, rather than waiting for the Democrat government to act, which would have taken months.

I think you're used to the lightening pace of Keir Starmer. The only thing he acts quickly on is locking up protestors who don't believe the same way as him.

So do you agree with his comments? A straight yes or no is all that is needed.

I agree 100% with his comments. Is this what you are referring too:

    With regards to the FAA.

"Brilliant people have to be in those positions,"

"A group within the FAA determined that the workforce was too white, then they had concerted efforts to get the administration to change that and to change it immediately," Trump said. "This was in the Obama administration.?

Taken from The Hill - which can't be construed as a media outlet that makes Trump look good.

He tried to fix it in his last term, but was blocked by what the Republicans call the 'Dark State'.

Yaaaaaawn. You are still avoiding the point of my posts, I wonder why? Do you think it's right that in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy the most powerful person in the world starts conspiracy theories rather than express genuine condolences? You've not said a single word against it, and I doubt you will. That says a lot about you.

What are you talking about? The one thing I don't do is avoid made-up 'points' you make. I ask you for proof and then get abusive.

It isn't a conspiracy theory. Why don't you call me an anti-vaxxer while you're at it? Another one of your childish name-calling tactics.

Read the previous posts. It was an issue that was identified in Trump's first term. There were problems at the FAA that was leading to safety issues in the US aviation industry. Due to the hiring practices of the FAA peoples' lives were in danger. Trump grounded the Boeing Max fleet after FAA wanted to discuss the failings of the fleet more.

Trump then wanted to replace the senior management of the FAA, but was undermined by US career-civil servants. He didn't get chance to clear out the board.

Trump said this time he was going to sort out the FAA and it's hiring processes. The bill was drawn up on 22nd January - over a week before the accident.

He alluded, after the accident, that it could have been caused by what he was trying to sort out. I really can't understand what you are saying is a conspiracy theory.

Don't start me on about the Laken Riley Act. Another issue that the Democrats brushed under the carpet until Trump came in.

F*cking hell, this is like talking to a plank of wood. Evade, avoid, swerve, do anything but face the point.

You obviously think it's fine for Trump to use a tragedy to try and score cheap political points. I don't think many would agree with you.
