As an individual, Trump is awful. Yet folks just don't want to face up to why he got elected.
The last cabbage in the job brought about so much chaos, the majority had had enough of it.
Trump shouts, I put this country first and thats what they want.

The same thing is happening here, and as much as the soft left here don't want to hear it. There are reasons behind it similar to the USA.

The UK has had for the last 25 years, 2 parties, that puke bile at each other , yet are practically identicle in policies and dragging this country backwards.
The pilot scoffs every time, yet the public are showing their anger.

Everything from massive population increases/ green madness/ costs of living/ crime and attrocities. to the latest slurping by Labour to softening towards blasphemy laws.

I am still amazed here, how some people called the Tories run by the hard right when nothing was further from the truth. They were every bit as soft as Labour is now.

One thing is certain, TTR, the previous **** show allied to the ever harder society in the UK caused me to decide not to come back and live some time ago. This new lot have one success to their credit, they have proved my previous decision was the right one to make.

Tricky, you might want to consider the following.

    1) Trump won a two horse race with 49.9% of the vote. What he ‘shouts’ resonates with fractionally under half the electorate and appalls the rest.

    2) ‘Puking bile’ at each other isn’t something that suddenly started happening politically at the turn of the 21st century. It’s been going on for as long as I can remember.

    3) Just seven months ago Labour overturned a huge Tory majority and were elected with their own even bigger majority. How does that fit in with your reasoning?

It does seem that if you are quoting stats as a valid marker, Trumps 49% gives him a significantly stronger mandate than Labours 33%. Both won by the rules applied and I hope both bring prosperity to their countries, but it?s food for thought. Remember your campaign regarding Brexit and the 38%?

    1. If Trump was so awful, then his narrative means a lot more than the Democrats served up.
    2. Missing the point. Puking bile at each other has gone on a lot longer. Yet the hilarity of it is, they are so much alike now, with DAVOS and the World orders, being top of their priorities before the people who voted for them The Tories proved that, and Starmer is elevating it.
    3. Fit in with my reasoning? lol.

A chimpanzee in a red rosette could have ousted the Tories the last election. It is only now that those who did so, realise what a complete **** wit we have put in charge.
I refer you back to the latest opinion pols to counter your logic.

    https://www.markpack.org.uk/155623/v...oll-scorecard/

One in four voters who backed Keir Starmer at the general election now regret it, according to a new poll.

Research by think tank More in Common and published by LBC found 56% of voters now have a lower opinion of the government after six months in power.

If the USA follows their master's instructions and assists in the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, surely, they will be guilty of ethnic cleansing, a War Crime?

The Arab nations don't want the 2 million or so Gazan/Palestinians. The UK doesn't want it to happen. EU ditto.

Trump has opened a while new can of worms. Will his company build this new ME Riviera? What about all the oil said to be under Gaza and/or its territorial waters?

To my last knowledge, there are no proven oil fields under Israel/Gaza only a small off shore gas field. Very much a red herring to me. I dont think Egypt would have legged it out of there either had it been proven otherwise.

I think you’ve misunderstood. The stat I quoted was of the popular vote cast. Trump won 49.9% while Harris won 48.3% so hardly the overwhelming voice of the USA.

Interestingly perhaps, four years ago Biden won 80.3 million votes while last year, Trump’s overwhelming victory was secured on the basis of 76.9 million voters.

There are said to be massive oil and gas reserves off the Gaza Strip and beneath occupied Palestinian territory.

No one really cares about what voters think seven months into a five year term, that’s just political reality. Do I approve of everything that’s been done since July? No. Do I think it’s been disastrous? No. Does Starmer have more credibility as PM than any of his three or four predecessors. Yes…imo.

Agree. Wasn't it the same for Thatcher early into her 1st term?

Ok Starmer won't get a falklands (i hope), but as time passes and the media obsession with farage fades away support will come back.

I think it's pathetic really the smear campaign against him, the voice coach stuff is really scraping the barrel.

I've said it before, I'm not defending him just because, I am not his biggest fan, I didn't vote for his party, but he's doing ok in challenging times. He's no Blair but he's an improvement over the recent incumbents of no 10
