Some posters on this board always berated RM for some bizarre reason, I hope they?re happy now. I imagine the owners must be a little shocked by this as well considering his ties with the club and FR for such a long time.

I feel more dismayed about this than any other departure for some reason.
If he will still be employed by Football Radar then surely Swansea would have to pay for the use of that data. But how would the Bros know how much Football Radar info was being used by Montague to make judgements and direct transfer policy?
Surely he will have to leave FR?

That was my next thought. Even if he does break from FR he still has all the knowledge and metrics used to highlight players, and LW will definitely be aware of just how important RM could be.

As anticlough says, it?s galling. Hopefully FR?s radar spans out in all kinds of expertise, which wouldn?t be surprising to be honest. Hell, they may even have a better person lined up already.

if we get promotion this season then fair enough, but if we don't it should be questioned how much RM's departure in February affected that - even if they have identified a suitable long term replacement. Everything I've heard suggests RM has been very hands on at the club. If so, he will be missed.

It's easy for longtime Notts fans to catastrophize because we're used to fairly significant parts of our gardening equipment just falling off. Hope I'm reading too much into this.

It all feels a bit unsettling. Crowley going, the assistant coaches going, now RM. But all going to bigger roles, at least as far as they see it and a sign that we have people others want.

With the January window completed I wonder how much RM would be doing for the rest of this season as I can't believe he would be influencing SM's modus operandi. And as NCFCOG recently said, data analysis is now no longer the ground breaking approach that it was a few years back so RM's not likely to be taking any big secrets away with him.

Or perhaps RM sees the timescale to get us into higher divisions a little too long for his ambitions now he has made a bit of a name for himself. He has been at Radar a long time.

The Bros have form in having contingency plans in place. This may be a stepping stone for someone already in their organisation.

it all feels a bit unsettling because we're looking unsettled! Did we ever hear the full story behind half of our coaching team just upping sticks? Successful seasons aren't usually characterized by inner turmoil.

Appreciate the balanced perspective. The Bros do have good form so I'll come in off the ledge - but I'm leaving the window open!

We are looking very thin on the ground at the top now.
A lot will fall very heavily on Joe Palmer. If he were to go now or even in the next 6 months we will be rudderless.
The Bros don't appear to be too much hands on but hopefully I may be mistaken there.
The most immediate need for the team is a new Assistant Head Coach to help SM through till the end of the season. And as Anticlough has suggested maybe Alves taking over recruitment, at least in the short term.
When / if we go up we will need quite a lot of recruits in order to be strong enough to stay up. This is the time of year to be doing that research so that we can continue our policy of getting most of it done early.
