4-5 months ago I’d have looked at the next six fixtures and thought, we’re on for twelve points or more from that lot.
Now, getting half that would be a huge improvement on what we’ve seen since the autumn, getting 12 would be a miracle.
The way other results are going I reckon if we don’t beat Millwall next weekend we’re just about done. So where will relegation leave us in terms of playing staff next season and the all important future investment that’s been spoken of?
Of course we want to stay up but whether or not we do remains clearly in the balance, however the scales are imo firmly weighted against survival after our disastrous run. In sport it's all about momentum and that comes from results, currently we have the momentum of a worm about to satisfy a blackbirds hunger.
As Sith says even if we go down Clowes knows that we will continue to have excellent support and that will be a ***** element for him and Eustace to rebuild. Relegation will be a setback but there is always next season and plenty to be positive about. That perhaps wasn't the case not that long ago!

My concern, mac, is where relegation - which looks likely at this moment but is still by no means inevitable - will leave us.

We’ve heard from Mr. Clowes about possible investment, even to the extent of him being prepared to sell up to 80% of his shares, and the matter of investment has been hinted at by John Eustace. I’m presuming however that those considering such investment will find a Championship side a rather more attractive proposition than a L1 side and while I agree that three years ago we were staring into the abyss, if we are relegated I’m not certain how much progress we will be able to think we’ve made and sustained since the end of 21/22.
