Not sure what I'll do then. I think I'll keep going and i of course know people around me after all these years. Weirdly everyone on our row is from Kilburn, not for any reason than just coincidence.

I think what im rambling about though is football to me isn't just about the match and being successful, it's a social occasion. So championship or league one, none of that changes.
Do they all speak with an Irish accent, per chance?
I like something to aim for, and I'll "enjoy" this relegation battle more than I would have a midtable finish in L1 if we didn't go up last year.
Although, I don't think I'll take relegation on the chin, it means a failed opportunity.

Whether it's at the BBG or PP the fans will still be there, we are the one constant and as you so elequently put it that will not change! Through good and bad (more bad than good these days) we persevere hoping that wins become a regular thing, the goals for tally looks healthy and the next Hector, Roy Mac, Stimac and even a Charlie George are strutting their stuff once again on our hallowed turf.

Dreams yes, but that's what keeps us going.

COYR, we will stay with you.
Completely accept your point, and Sith’s, mac…but you have to have concerns.
4-5 months ago I’d have looked at the next six fixtures and thought, we’re on for twelve points or more from that lot.
Now, getting half that would be a huge improvement on what we’ve seen since the autumn, getting 12 would be a miracle.
The way other results are going I reckon if we don’t beat Millwall next weekend we’re just about done. So where will relegation leave us in terms of playing staff next season and the all important future investment that’s been spoken of?

Don't get me wrong, yes, I'd love us to stay up. It will set us back of course going down. But I don't see clowes giving up. People talk of eustace starting the bounce, maybe that's what he will do , bounce us straight back up and push us on further.

Of course we want to stay up but whether or not we do remains clearly in the balance, however the scales are imo firmly weighted against survival after our disastrous run. In sport it's all about momentum and that comes from results, currently we have the momentum of a worm about to satisfy a blackbirds hunger.
As Sith says even if we go down Clowes knows that we will continue to have excellent support and that will be a ***** element for him and Eustace to rebuild. Relegation will be a setback but there is always next season and plenty to be positive about. That perhaps wasn't the case not that long ago!

My concern, mac, is where relegation - which looks likely at this moment but is still by no means inevitable - will leave us.

We’ve heard from Mr. Clowes about possible investment, even to the extent of him being prepared to sell up to 80% of his shares, and the matter of investment has been hinted at by John Eustace. I’m presuming however that those considering such investment will find a Championship side a rather more attractive proposition than a L1 side and while I agree that three years ago we were staring into the abyss, if we are relegated I’m not certain how much progress we will be able to think we’ve made and sustained since the end of 21/22.

If Forest can get investment when languishing at the bottom of the championship with no stadium of their own, just a rented ramshackle flea pit, fair weather fan base, then I'm sure we will get some.

With regard to investment, at first glance one can say great now watch us go but after recent events when 'investment' landed us in the 💩 excuse me if I don't burst into fits of euphoria!
I assume that Clowes will examine any offers thereof with the most powerful magnifying glass available but there's plenty of clubs who found that their golden egg was somewhat only fit to throw at Trump!
No, I'll deal in the here and now and for me, whilst avoiding the big drop is preferable, I don't see L1 as the disaster some are fearing!

Both fair points. There’ll be many who know a lot more about such investment than me. Just a bit of a concern that, in football’s equivalent of snakes and ladders, we’re in danger of going back to square one, albeit with better ownership but a weaker squad.

I acknowledge your genuine concerns, indeed they are concerns that most of us have and no doubt Clowes has. Clearly relegation holds a number of risks affecting both financial matters and squad strength and yes there is always the possible knock on effects of stagnation, indeed the likes of Bolton are an example of this. However, if the worst happens we have shown that L1 can be less than the pit some fear it is. Brum seem to be doing all right.

As I have mentioned the support given to the club in our recent visit to the alleged back and beyond contributed significantly to our recovery and that support will, wherever we are, remain a significant factor in interesting potential investors and in our efforts to return to the Championship. Yes it will be a shame to have 'lost' the progress made since the Morris crap but hopefully we can use the experience of the last couple of seasons to our benefit.

I hope we can beat the odds and claw our way out of trouble but, as Sith says, Clowes won't desert us and that factor mitigates, imo, both my fears of and the effects of relegation.
