    1893 Foundation

I enclose details of the 1893 Foundation from the Club website. https://dundeefc.co.uk/club/1893-foundation/about/
It speaks about the funds raised from the 1893 Foundation being spent on the footballing side of the club which in my opinion covers a huge area.
I think that the management of Dundee Football Club should state that the money donated annually by members of the 1893 Foundation will be handed over to increase the Manager?s budget to try to sign the best players for Dundee Football Club.
The Ayr United 500 Club and the Aberdeen ?AberDNA? fund raising schemes state that the money raised will be handed over to augment the manager?s playing budget.
I read on Pravda (the Dark Blues Forum) one poster suggested that the 1893 Foundation might have charitable status which would allow them to claim 25% Gift Aid from each donation.
I think that this poster on Pravda is wrong.

I am very disappointed with your reply.
I thought that you might have posted that the management of Dundee Football Club should state that the money raised annually from the 1893 Foundation will be given to the manager to increase his footballing budget.
If this was guaranteed to happen then I believe that a lot more Dundee FC supporters including armchair supporters and supporters living outwith Dundee and abroad might join the 1893 Foundation.
In my opinion the Club should stop handing out perks based on the amount raised and ensure that all the funds raised are spent putting the best team on the pitch.

My opinion of this so called foundation is the same as yours and you don't need me to tell you how it works and how pathetic it is.

I refuse to engage with it because I refuse to contribute to John Nelms' salary.

How do you think a playing budget fund could be organised? How do you define it? Seems easy to say, but what can the funds be spent on player's wages? Subscription to a scouting programme?. Maybe make a suggestion and see if DSA and Dee4life could build a consensus?

I don't want anything to do with it.

A proper playing budget fund could have easily been organised if the 1893 Foundation had been set up the way it was originally intended with an independent group of trustees and a standalone page on the Dee4life website.

No. Like Deeranged I refuse to contribute to John Nelms’s salary.
However if there was a statement in writing that all the funds raised annually from the 1893 Foundation will be handed over to increase the manager’s playing budget I would make a monthly contribution.
I also believe that the 1893 Foundation should have a separate independent group of trustees which is what happens with the Ayr United AU 500 fund, the Well Trust and the Foundation of Hearts.
