    WBA53 match thread

    Albion v Oxford 3pm on a Saturday .
Another full house and a big win and 3 points .
Hope Matty Philips gets a deserved round of applause .
Looking back to March 1999 , Albion 2 Oxford 0 with Enzo Maresco scoring his Ist and Albion's 2nd goal .
I'm sure it's Jeff Astle doing the commentary , video from Homleiegnyd ( any one know how Chriss is doing )

    COYB safe journey everyone .

We just cannot afford to fail to win home games such as this as we have some more difficult games on the horizon. I think that it is important that TM gets selection right for today.
I agree that Matt Phillips should get a good reception but hope that he does not come back to haunt us!

    I?d like to see:

    - Armstrong up top and central
    - Johnston and Fellows from the off.
    - Diakite to put some steal in the middle
    - Price in the other midfield spot for his delivery
    - Bany on the bench to bring some flair second half

The rest I don?t mind how he sets up.

I?ll second that, but I think we?ll see the hopeless Diangana again

Wildsmith, Furlong, Ajeyi, Heggem, Styles, Mowett, Molumby, Price, Fellows, Armstrong, Johnstone.
Probably the side I would have picked.

Agreed. If all on form, this is probably our strongest team selection given our current absences. Wouldn't surprise me to see either Dike or Bany get some time later.

Btw, notice Grant not on the bench. Is he injured or out of favour with TM? He isn't a natural number 9 nor a winger in the sense that Johnston is but he can be useful playing off the shoulder. Don't see why him and Mikey should be necessarily mutually exclusive.

Sounds like we are totally dominating this game-let's just hope we don't rue our inability to actually put the ball in the net to add to that first goal after so many chances

Still not got that second goal and in a game which we should have put to bed. Surely need to make some changes up front now?

Can see why Armstrong replaced and, to be fair, also Diangana for Fellows as Tom not had much joy this game either, but Swift for Price?

Pity we can’t change the referee, another awful one, hopeless.
