Am I being insensitive in thinking that Wales and Ireland having to change their traditional colour shirts for the Six Nations rugby is a step too far. The reason being that 4.5% of the male population are colour blind between the colours of red and green. Surely a reasonable solution would be for the teams to keep their traditional colour shirts with one team wearing black shorts and socks and the other wearing white shorts and socks. In the days of black and white television the sides did not change their colours unless both sides played in the same colour. We managed to watch those games. I would be interested to know the opinions of others as perhaps I am wrong.
I'm colour blind. Ireland playing in green shorts would solve the problem for me. Cynical me thinks 'will it sell more shirts?'
