    Will we have allowed Cameron to play against us Tuesday? Would we prefer he did?

    I think EFL rules state you can't play against your parent club

    That's the Prem only. EFL allows it if the loaning club gives permission.

    55.8 During the period of any Temporary Loan Transfer, a Player shall not play against his Transferor Club without the prior written permission of the Transferor Club (which, if given, must be indicated on the appropriate Temporary Loan Transfer form).

    I remember we had a defender on loan from Chesterfield a few years back, can't remember his name. He was surprisingly allowed to play against his parent club when we faced them at Meadow Lane, and the Chesterfield fans booed him roundly when he headed the ball off the line to prevent a certain goal. What was he supposed to do, dodge out of the way and celebrate the goal?

    Assume that was Phil Picken, but I didn't get to many games back then!
