Took his goals well and is a good player if we play to his strengths, which we don't often do.

Dalby is a big lumbering c*nt of a player. A lower league journeyman who i wouldn't want near pittodrie.
As for when I wrote this I stand by it 100%, he was a disgrace today and I was shocked he made it out for the 2nd half after almost every attack of ours in the first half ended when it got to Nisbet. If the manager is instructing Nisbet to come so deep then the fault is on Jimmy but if not then it makes it even worse for Nisbet that he can't follow the managers instructions and is causing the team to faulter when we get in the opposing half.

Obviously delighted he got the 2 goals and hope he kicks on from this but for me he's had chance after chance up top and I'd be going with Dabbagh up there barring any injuries.

I made the Dalby reference with regards to goals scored as Nisbet, again up to that point I had posted, had offered zero in the game and has less goals than Dalby this season. Dalby also gives you the added height at set pieces which we waste game after game.

    Dalby 158 mins per goal
    Nisbet 175 mins per goal

Not as much difference as you might think

Not as much but again in that first half Nisbet broke down almost every attack he was involved in.

As I said I'd have went with Morris on the right, Topi on the left, Clarkson in the 10 and Shinnie on eventually which was close to how it went and I hope that the next match has this set up albeit I'd be surprised if Jimmy drops Nisbet after his 2 goals so I'd imagine it'll be Nisbet and Dabbagh as the 9 & 10.

Topi HAS to be on the left and Morris on the right with Shinnie at left back and Palaversa and Sivert in midfield. The other positions pick themselves on current form.

Typical pjm "midfielder" .i.e. hatchet man who spent his entire career booting anyone in an opposing shirt. Their replacement for kirkwood who spent his entire career booting anyone in an opposing shirt.

Most people at the game around me thought Nisbet was the best of our under firing attacking players in the first half. He was chasing the ball and trying to get attacks started. A player like Nisbet shouldn't be going back to deep to get the ball, as not his strength and he hasn't the pace.

I think some of the stick Nisbet has received this season has been well OTT (that's not aimed at your post yesterday either). He clearly had fitness and form issues and being in and out of the team wasn't helping him.

Hopefully he goes on a run between now and May and fires us to third place and the cup.

That needs sorting before we address the showbiz end of the pitch.
We would improve defensively if we stopped having every outfield player in the box when defending set pieces.

I think we have three parts of the defensive line sorted, just need to sort out left back position.

When Devlin is fit I would like to see him at RB and Jensen in the middle of the pitch.

After quite a few players coming in during the January transfer window we are still weak defensively, poor in midfield and look powderpuff going forward attacking.
Are the players and manager giving enough?
That?s us down to 4th place. It was a poor result for Aberdeen FC yesterday but I am certainly not surprised.
Thelin is another manager who struggles with team selection. I would suggest to him to stop starting with players who are offering extremely little. No point being loyal to players who would get you the sack.

It wouldnt be so bad if theyre were actually doing anything but theyre all just floating about in there

I understand football has evolved a bit since I was playing centre half at primary but surely full backs on the posts with your CF on the halfway line, fixes a lot of the problems weve got?

Nobody will ever convince me in the merit of bringing Clarkson back for corners

Had same discussion yesterday re Jensen. Jensen the better player but Devlin the better defender IMO and with Jensen such a good player we’re not getting best of him with Topi (wrong side) or Morris (one trick basically, albeit a good one) in front of him.

Given the midfield is still a **** show he’s got to be worth a go. He’s obviously a football player.

I know defence at set pieces is obvious issue but for me midfield is as much a problem - we’re wide open on turnovers which given we effectively play with two DMs is crackers. Nilsen needs a break again or a talking to, saw two players take umbrage at him again yesterday. Slows us right down, not what?s needed when chasing a game. Palaversa is an enigma to me, is he inhibited by Nilsen?

Okells continued involvement baffles me. Baffles me. My amusement at Gueye has worn off. Chaos sub only.

And to stop this being a complete moaning post - was impressed with Knoester again yesterday and saw more in Dorrington. Clarkson looked good because he was given all the time in the world but after complaining all game about the pedestrian pace and unnecessary touches it would be churlish to complain about Clarkson given he at least moves the ball first time (although he still shouldn?t be on corners). A much better showing from him.

And like Rico I too am now amenable to Nisbet getting an offer for next season. Don’t know if it’s improved fitness or competition but he’s stepped up. Thought criticism he got was OTT anyway.

As for our true Captain, said it time and again nobody like him for dragging us over the line. Somebody posted last game he’d no leadership qualities…
Horses for courses now at this stage of his career but nobody I want on the pitch more when we’re chasing a game.
