The answer was no when this thread began.
For the record, it is still no.

And if asked, the answer for the vast majority of Notts managers in our long history is also no.
Not many managers achieve promotion
No, and PO's or above midtable is respectable normally but how have we arrived at our level of expectation? Was it down to the NL promotion season (or should it be the ML promotion season!), Munto? The Bros and the feeling of safety they instilled? I can't ever remember until recently people saying "big club" "natural level" and all the other puffed up comments.
Don't get me wrong, I'm as ambitious at the next person, probably more so than a lot, but I don't expect! I want us to earn and deserve.

I?ll be honest my expectations have probably lowered, it was like purgatory in the NL, always said I never have a season ticket if we went out the league, I still did. Then you look before then, fake owner we?re still recovering from to dickgate, we managed to hit some all time lows, so craving stability is kind of natural.
I think the owners get more or less most things right but the latest transfer window feels like an opportunity missed after we did so well to get through injuries, maybe the newbies will get going.
As for SM I?ve always worried about the nice/shy guy persona but I?ve seen plenty if games I?ve totally agreed with the selection, the tactics and seen how hard the team are working. If there?s someone who?s notably going to improve us let?s get them as I?ve said with every manager, but who?
MK Dons thought they?d won the league when they got Lindsay because of his track record, some of us thought we would be relegation contenders with SMs Notts track record which proves it?s not always that simple.
No one hand on heart on here can attribute the seasons performance good or bad to the squad, the manager or the standard of the league.
Exactly.
Lots of talk of progress earlier this season. We finished 14th last season not helped at all by our head coach departing mid season.
So technically above that is progress on the metric of the league table. That?s undeniable.
At the start of the season I predicted a 7-10th placed finish so above that is satisfying for me and would show real progress. I believe playoffs are the minimum expectation this season and believe we will achieve that. If we don?t achieve the play offs I said and still say Maynard should go.
Does make me chuckle when you have people predict midtable, or a relegation battle, the head coach being sacked by Christmas and attendances plummeting before a ball is kicked and those same people are up in arms when we drop down to 5th or 6th and state we aren?t going to get playoffs!!
Mate you predicted 15th
