Saying that if that does indeed happen it is far better performance from Maynard than you predicted at the start of the season (14th) and since (18th)
Losing playoff semi-finalist and either 14th or 18th get the same reward, nothing.

I wonder if the brothers will regard losing playoff semi-finalists as progress. Didn't they set a points target?

I think that we will be in this league while SM is the coach.

SM said recently whilst being interviewed that we were short of the target set for the team, and that was at a time when we were on the good run of results. Since then we have only picked up 5 points out of a possible 15, which puts us even further behind the target..

Correct he did say that what would be interesting to know is how is the points target set.

Is it set on data which I assume as I can?t imagine anybody could say to a manager your target is 85 points this season that to me seems a ridiculous way of heaping pressure onto the squad and also other factors could play a part in not hitting those targets.

He will get this season without doubt but he might not survive until next season who knows ?

I assume they set targets and adjust them regularly during the season, with the aim of promotion always in mind.

I’d also assume we were expecting six points from the last two games, not one - making the tougher fixtures against Wimbledon and Grimsby ones where they now need to target at least four points. The fact we’re away may count in our favour, at least.
