Is he a 'wing-back'? Well, he is if he's picked there! 2 of the 10 outfield players have to play there. With the wide centre-backs better thought of as full-backs and the commitment to stretching the pitch with 2 wingers/wing-backs as well, players like Jarvis have to settle for that.
I didn't think he was as bad agianst Barrow as others rated him. We need JJ back and
Tsaroulla to find consistency from somewhere. Right now, it's too much to ask Jarvis to be a consistent performing regular on a promotion chasing team in a really physical league.
Jarvis has plenty of skill and seems to have a bit of pace
He could and should be a very good player
    It's up to him

yeah it is. I hope he can find a way to contribute to our push, but I think next season will be the real test of that

I?m certainly not crucifying him but there were comments from the Hull manager and also Damian Duff who was complimentary but also had a bit of a caveat. What they both said he has unbelievable talent and this is where I?d hope someone like Didzy can steer him from a players side a bit, of course he?s got to be willing to do it as well. He certainly isn?t a WB, that?s for sure.

Jarvis currently isnt a wingback of any description, but part of the problem is that he was played on the left where he was constantly wanting to cut inside but he inevitably ran into trouble.

The decision to play him there the other night instead of Tsaroulla after his performance against Tranny was absolutely inexplicable.

The pick says something encouraging about Jarvis or something damning about Tsaroulla or a trade off between the two.
Everything - stage of season/point in Notts career/ages/career experience - says that Tsaroulla should have that position nailed down when JJ isn't available.
SM must have gotten tired of waiting for him to deliver and thought Jarvis was worth another throw of the dice. It isn't long since Martin got a run of games there. Another problem position, one of quite a few now.
